Talon Grips
I purchased a set of the rubber grips for my shield and I love them, had them in a couple of days. So I ordered a set for my CM9 on the 6th of may and I haven,t heard from talon since. I sent them 2 emails that have gone unanswered and called on the phone which was not answered. Anyone have any idea whats going on with them. I know their service is usually top notch so wondered if they were having a problem. Thanks

I'm happy I came across this thread, Because I was wondering the same thing. I ordered mine on the 9th. From all the different threads I have read, most people got the grips within 3 days.

Their Facebook page has people saying that they haven't gotten or had a reply as well. It is Strange.

Ordered mine on 5/3; shipped(1st class USPS form Arizona) on 5/8; received on 5/11. That's a few days slower than my previous order, but I have a feeling they are getting a lot of orders.

Grips
I hope your right about lots of orders and I'll get mine soon. I ordered mine on the 6th and still no grips. What makes me wonder is I send them a couple of emails and a phone call and no response.

Ordered on 5/9/12 and received an order/payment confirmation email that day stating an email would be sent upon shipping. Sent them an email this evening about my order status - Sounds like I will not get a response.
Gotta love it when a business gets overwhelmed and then goes dark on communication. Their website says "Phones will be down today. Please email. Thanks!". Wonder how long that message has been up on their site?

For at least a couple of weeks or more I think. Seems like they would just have a message when you call (perhaps they do). I plan to get some, but I'll think I'll wait & see. I hope all is well with them.

same boat here, paid on 5-6 sent, still no grips, sent 2 emails and no response. Simple to have an auto response on emails that says, we are swamped ETA is going to be X days.
Might have to do a paypal no delivery of goods if i do not hear back soon.

Agreed. An auto response or a banner on their website is stupid simple. And just good business...

Very true, not to knock them, but this kind of thing can hurt a business, and we sure don't need a gun type biz to suffer in any way.

OMG Relax guys. Maybe the poor man's in the Hospital or has a family emergency. He's always been top notch. I have got quite a few grips off of him and this is not the norm..

They always delivered the several time I ordered from them. I would wait it out just a little while longer. Talon seems like a good company.

That's why I just hope things are OK on their end, but life happens, I wish them nothing but the best.

Maybe he's gotten so many orders he's run out of materials to make the grips with?
In checking his website, I noticed that he's got the message "Phones will be down today". Usually when I see this sort of message it means that the business is moving to a new location. At this point it's all conjecture on our part. Hopefully orders will start shipping soon...

I have ordered 2 sets on the 7th and 8th. Haven't received them but I have spoken to a Talon rep who said it was a materials issue. They ran out of material and was getting it in and then had to catch up on all the orders.
I am anxious but it in no way affects me shooting my gun
Be patient as good as the Talons are it reminds me that good things take time and based on orders I would have to believe the Talon Grips have gripped (lol) gun owners around the country.

They are selling like Hot Cakes, and they are raising the Prices. My Granulated were 10.99 on 4-27 (received 4-30). The grips are now $14 or $15 dollars. Business was BOOMING for them, and it's a nice product.
They really fit the Shield beautifully.

If the business is still accepting and processing payment, someone should be responding.

Same here, he has always been a top notch guy. Sometimes life throws you a curve ball. He may be sick or have an issue with one of his kids. That for me would put everything else on the back burner. Kids come first!

Understood and I agree, if there is some sort of family emergency then that trumps all. Would in house.
As an aside, if you want to relate your past positive experience with the company then that is appreciated and comforting BUT I do not appreciate your "OMG Relax guys" comment. That you can keep to yourself...

Talon site says shipping and emails have begun again after restocking. They ran out of materials due to the DEMAND.

Talon has updated their website with the following:
"We are going through changes within the company, orders are currently suspended. Please check back for status updates.
If you have placed an order but not received it, we will contact you with options.
Thank you for your patience."

News from Talon Grips is even more confusing...
There are two recent reports on their Facebook page:
1. On Saturday indicating that they are having manufacturing and software issues.
2. On Sunday indicating that the owner of Talon Grips has passed away.

Indeed. I'm looking for an email from them outlining my options for my pending order placed on 5/9. I'm willing to wait for my grips if the company can re-group and continue to provide the same quality product...

Order placed 5/7, no email here yet either.
FWIW, the person who posted the death announcement had a pot leaf for a profile picture so I'm not 100% sure of the reliability of the claim. I would think a spokesperson for the company may have chosen something a bit different?

From Hickok himself on Glock Talk website:
I've had considerable communication with Derik in recent months and weeks about grips for the Shield and such. My last text from him was on May 11th and things seemed fine.
He's always responsive to texts and calls, so I fear for the "worst," too. I've not gotten any response from his cell number, either text or voice, so I just don't know yet what's going on either. I'm deeply saddened by this, as I've been very impressed by what a great guy he is.

Out of curiousity, I let my techie side take the lead last night and did some research on Talon grips.
Talon's web site is registered through GoDaddy by proxy so there wasn't a lot of good info. I then checked further and was able to find their business license... and Derik's full name. I researched further and found other info on him too. Since this sort of research quickly borders on an invasion of privacy, I backed off and checked the local newspapers in his area. No recent news reports listing his name and no obituaries. If what was posted is true, I suspect something should hit the local papers in his area in the next few days...
In reading some of the recent posts on Talon's FB site, however, it seems that some of the natives are getting quite restless over their $15. Sad to see people who seem to act like their $15 is more important than a man's life...

If Hickok can't get in touch with the owner, I'm worried it could be as bad as we've heard, but I'll hold out hope until something or someone has some hard facts.

My prayers and thoughts go out to Derek and family. It sounds bad, but hoping for great news such as a major server crash, materials issue, or something like that (much better than human demise...). I was fortunate to get the rubberized grips for my Shield around April 20th, and absolutely love them. A great product.

What we feared appears to have come true. I join with Pastor Rick in asking us all to keep them in our prayers. They need the support now more than ever. God bless the Talon family during their time of loss.

I assume it was Derik, as Hickok45 says no cell calls or texts to him were answered. Hickok45 said he always answered his calls.
