Default Shield Magazine gap

Just picked up Shield 40. When I insert either magazine there is a small gap between base plate and handle. Maybe 1/8 inch.
Mags are snapped inbut not tight against handle. Anyone else notice this on theirs?? I havent shot yet or had any rounds in mag so don't know if that will make diff. Thanks

No issue. Put rounds in and send them down the pipe. This is not an issue to worry about! The Shield is tight but a good shooter. Dont worry it is the same thing with all Shields. S&W has made a good one.

Not a functional problem... If you don't like the silver on the mag showing, just black the bottom 3/16" .

As stated already its not a problem other than the way it looks. With the flat metal finish on the mag it does stand out a bit. It seems that S&W paid a lot of attention to details on the gun overall but in this one very small area the mag finish or lack of finish does stick out.

Regardless its one of the best guns I have ever owned. Enjoy the fact that you were lucky enough to get one. They are like gold right now.

I had a gap with my Beretta Nano. If you want to talk silver showing look at the Kahr.

Please post a range report when you've tried her out. I'm interested in more Shield .40 feedback. Thanks
