Hello All,
new member here. I've had an m&p pro series 9 for almost a year. 6 months ago at the range it looks like the tritium vile busted. Have been calling Smith for last 6 months and they still haven't received any b/c the manufacturer hasn't sent them.
Has anyone else had the front sight problem and waited this long for a front sight?
Going on over a year with my M&P9 Pro and pushing 2,000 rounds...no issues about the sites and it gets drawn and holstered quite a bit with dry fire practicing. Good luck and let us know how this turns out.
the pistol itself is great and has no other issues. I find myself taking the m&p to the range more often than any other. I had a glock 23 with factory trijicons and it seemed only after a short time, the front sight dimmed quite a bit but on my m&p it looks like the vile actually busted.
I was thinking of calling trijicon to see if they could do anything because the Smith rep did say they use trijicon.
I purchased a M&P Pro Series 9mm about 2-3 months ago and have had it at the range for a total of 4 times. I experienced the same issue...a broken front night sight vile and I discovered it while dry firing it at home. The vile was intact on previous nights while dry firing it, so the only thing I can figure out is that holstering it (in a leather holster) somehow damaged it. Otherwise, it stays in my safe in a Bore-Stor bag. I contacted S&W and it's at the factory now...been there going on 3 weeks. Hopefully they won't hang onto the pistol much longer. My other experiences with S&W repairs is about 2-3 week turnaround.
Mine has not seen a holster...yet, all I can figure is that it busted while at the range. When I got the pistol, it soon became the one I was shooting most (my 1911 wasn't happy about that)
I just called trijicon and they were great to deal with. I told them what happened and they said they do manufacture the night sights for the m&p. I had to fill out a return request and they said they would take care of it.
