Default Looking for info REF: S&W M&P SHIELD

Just purchased a SHIELD. Called Trijicon to see if i could order new sites but they don't make it for that just yet. Did put on a Talon grip sleeve which is real nice.

Now what i'm looking for is a place to order spare mags for this model also an Uplula to help load the last 2 rounds ino the mags because until i break this in its a B ***h to fully load up the mag. They have to have someone out there to order quicker then S&W.

For the next few months you'll be lucky to find any shields themselves let alone mags. It's just too new. Some member posted a site that had some in stock if you look around in the Shield forum or do a site search for shield mags.

as far as the speed loader, amazon usually has good ship times and prices.

Post your question in the handgun forum. This is the 15-22 forum. You will get better answers there.

I want night sights for mine too. The front dot keeps getting very dirty after I shoot it.I keep having to get a wet patch and a tiny screw driver to clean it off so I can see the white paint again.

The same one will work on single stack AND double stack mags?

Yup...
Single-Stack, Double-Stack, 9mm - .45 cal (officially).
Many can also use the UpLULA on .380 as well, since it could be considered a '9mm short'.

Weird - I hear that from others but so far nothing with mine that requires cleaning... Must be the ammo? I use only Federal Champion on mine, its nice and clean

Uplula will work on both as stated already - get one and you will love it. It actually makes range sessions so much faster than the old days for me lol. I shoot alot and spend little to no time reloading

Well, this is my only single stack - the rest of my guns are double stack Berettas. So, I didn't wanna have to buy two separate ones. If they work on both - maybe I'll give one a try one day

You will be glad you did and then you will wonder why you didn't get one sooner...

It does work in both. I have uplula 9mm to 45. It loads single stack and double stack 9mm. The shield single stack magazine is not thin like other single stacks.

One more thing Someone suggested to load the magazine for a couple of weeks, someone else posted that it can only soften up if you load and unload it. Go to HOME DEPOT get a free flat paint mixing wooden stick, inset it in the magazine, go up and down 200-300 times have a beer and call me in the morning. When you are done disassemble the mag and clean it.

I am right handed, hold it on my left hand facing to my right with my left thumb way up high over the opening and press the cartridge against my thumb and down, holding it close to my chest for leverage. My boys also struggle with it

I believe the Trijicon HDs for the M&P series fit this just fine. Now if only they weren't so pricey. I still want them.

I'm also sure any M&P night sight sets will fit this as well as I've seen several variations on them already via this and other forums.

Back when I had HK USP compacts, I used to have to install +10% Wolf magazine springs in HK mags - as HK mags are notorious for having the springs go bad and stop locking the slide back (everyone at the HKPro Forum website changes them) after a few range trips.

Anyway - brand new, the +10% springs are so strong that they almost interfere with the slide closing back on the first range trip. Anyway, I used to do the same thing, with a capped pen... Pushing the follower up and down to put some wear on the spring.

The HDs are fine sights. Have a set on my G17 Gen4 - Really fast sight picture in bright daylight and the same is true in subdued light. Think they would be the better choice for me over the XS big dots on my shield but the HDs are a little tall on the front sight. Might me a trade off but the orange front sight is sweet in the bright light of day, IMO.
