Which ammo through your Shield so far?
I'm looking for which Ammo (9 and 40) everyone has shot through their shield, how many rounds, and if they have had any problems.
As of today, I'm at 700 rounds without any sort of malfunction or failure. Breakdown is:
50 UMC 115 gr
400 Fed Champion 115 gr
100 American Eagle 124 gr
100 Win White Box 115 gr
50 Fed HST 124 gr +P

Hhhmm I'm still newer to shooting handguns so I may be way off on the ammo specs. But lets see.
-50 American Eagle 115 gr (I think it was only 115. It was my first box through it and I was just too excited to shoot it to notice. :P)
-50 Rem UMC 124 gr (I believe)
-Multiple boxes of 100 Win White Box 115 gr
-50 Fed 115gr FMJ (cheap red box from Wally) Tried it yesterday... not bad.
If I'm way off on specs let me know. Oh, it's a 9mm Shield. It has ate them all with no problems. So I don't know which I like best. I guess the cheapest???

So far I have shot these with ZERO issues. Not one single problem or issue other than not being a fan of UMC ammo - dirty stuff..
650 Fed Champion 115 gr
200 UMC 115 gr
150 WWB 115 gr
50 Gold Dot 124 gr +p
25 Fed HST 124 gr +P

Only 1 FTE ? The same thing happened to me one time with the first box (reloads) on my first outting. It's a new gun. I usually have more than that with any new gun.
After that, it never happened again.

100 165gr WWB
20 135 Ranger T
~200 180gr Ranier HP Reloads.
No problems at all with the gun. Had a grip issue with the extended mag at first, but got that worked out so I don't depress the mag release on recoil (I am a lefty).

If you guys think of it, please list the ammo that was (to you) the most accurate, also any that experienced less accuracy than normal.
For me, I found Federal Champion 115g and Fed HST 124 +P to be very accurate, and American Eagle 124gr to be less accurate than average for me.

As best as I can recall
100 rounds of Speer Lawman FMJ
30 rounds of Blazer FMJ
20 rounds of Speer Gold Dot Short Barrel +P
The Lawman was the most accurate. The Gold Dots were consistantly low.

200 115g Blazer Brass
100 115g Federal Champion
15 124g +P Remington Golder Saber
15 125g +P Cor-Bon High Velocity
Zero malfunctions with any of the ammo through my Shield. Love this little gun. I wouldn't say either of the FMJ I have fired is more accurate than the other. I have a couple of boxes of Winchester WB sitting in my range bag that I will try the next time at the range.

To me, (for defensive ammo) out of 124gr Hydrashock, 124gr Gold Dot and the 115gr Critical Defense... The Critical Defense is the most accurate. It is my new carry ammo JUST for this gun.

kris-is it a good idea to use reloads for the break in period on a new gun? Common sense tells me that it's not the best idea but I might be wrong.

100 Federal Champion 115gr
100 WWB 115gr
70 Federal 147gr HP Hi-Shock (9MS)
~15 Hornady Critical Defense 115gr
~15-20 Winchestwr Ranger 124gr +P
No malfunctions. The 147gr HPs were most accurate for me, BUT they're what I shoot the most by far. I didn't really shoot enough left over Critical Defense (what I shot in my PF9) and Ranger +P to have an opinion on them.
Note: sometimes when I hand rack it a bit slowly, the slide gets caught on something and doesn't fully go forward (left with the recoil rod hanging out). A slight push and it closes. No problems when firing or slamming it closed. Can barely (sometimes) get the slide to push back a bit and stay--as with almost all autos).

Just got my M&P Shield yesterday and took it to the range this morning. So far:
100 rounds Federal Champion 115 grains
25 rounds Speer Gold Dot 124 grain +P
25 rounds Federal Hydra Shok 124 grain +P
25 rounds Black Hills 115 JHP
So far, fed everything with no malfunctions.
