Just got my Shield
Got it yesterday. My LGD call me that a .40 arived, I had a 9mm order. He let me used a .40 caliper gun for me to feel the kick, he knew I was new to this & I was kind of scared, not that much kick on the 40 I shot. He inform me that the Shield should have little more due to it been smaller.
Me & my sis in law husband shot a few, he did good, I didn't.
Today I went with my 2 daughters, I wanted them to see, hear & feel ( the feeling when a gun is shot it vabrates your insides) for them to know that it wasn't a toy & explained that if you shot someone they don't respawn somewhere. I did preatty good today with WWB ammo.
Oh the 9mm Shield will have taken 3 more month to arive.

Congrats jokiesmurf. Glad to hear you're liking the 40 cal.
The Shield is definitely hard to find but a shop in Pinellas Park had a couple about 2 weeks ago. They even had a demo 9mm. After putting 10 rounds through the demo I bought one on the spot. Paid MSRP of $449 but it's worth every penny and I didn't want to wait weeks or months to save a few bucks.

I'm enjoying it. My brother in law shot a .40 & he couldn't hit the target, with the Shield he was hitting it. But he loves his Sig P226 MK25 in 9mm.
Can't wait to the end of the week to go to the range.
Have 161 WWB bullets left, going to use some Federals, and really curiuos about the Speer Gold Dot.

Enjoy the 40 Shield. I really like mine. I think your accuracy will improve with practice on the range and dry firing.

Shoot the heck out of it and you will improve on your accuracy. Doesnt hurt to put in a movie and shoot the bad guys dry firing. Be sure its unloaded several times though.

Can't dry fire it. Wife don't like the idea of having a gun in the house. Going to try also a 180 grain ammo. All those shot to the chest was me aiming at the head using 165 gr. I guess me trying to compansate for the recoil I pull it down? I'm new at this, the highest caliber I have ever shot till last month was a 32. Last month I shot the p226 after 20yrs of not touching a gun.

Looks like you have a bad flinch. Shooting a small gun in .40 is only making this worse.
Have someone load a magazine for you and randomly insert a snap cap into the load instead of a real round. When that snap cap comes up unexpectedly it will tell you a lot about your flinch and trigger control.

Agreed, it's a really good teaching tool, just keep in mind all the gun safety rules during the exercise.

I will see if my lgs has any snap cap, just watch in youtube a guy name Hickok showing the use of snap cap to show flinching.
