M&P 40 accessories on a budget?

I just got a full size M&P 40, and I want to know what are some good budget accessories to have for it? First, I want a great concealment holster that will let the gun disappear under a t-shirt, about a $50 budget for the holster. Second, for home duty, I would want a nice budget mounted light that can go on and off with ease, $50 or more for something worth it. I can't think of any other accessories I might want, but I would like to see some ideas from some of you that already own one of these gems. Thanks in advance for your input

Regarding a budget holster, have a look at a Don Hume 721OT. I have one for my 40c and it works great. I doubt you'll find better for around $50.

Disregard the price in the link, street price is below $50.

NewSmith:

People who own 40 caliber handguns are not on a budget.

For the rest of us we carry 9mm.

Getting back to your question, I have found good deals for holsters andd tactical lights on Amazon.

That Don Hume looks really nice. I'm not really on a budget, I just don't want to spend more than $50 on a holster when I know I can geta good one for less that. That is true though, .40's cost alot to feed, it's like having another child in the house lol. Thanks I'll check amazon out.

Drop a factory 9mm barrel in that thing for $65 and you'll be shooting 9mm a bit cheaper.

You can do a holster for $50, at least an OWB, but you aren't getting much of a light for $50. I put a Streamlight on one of my M&P's for nightstand duty and I bought another one just because I was getting them cheap enough at $84.

The way I look at the light that may save your bacon is the same as the ammo that may do the same. You want to chintz on the light, you may as well buy some ammo from Mexico reloaded by some kids who don't use a scale or name brand primers.

If you want a light, get a good one. You don't want a *** that falls apart at the first recoil.

You might want to check out the budget end of the Streamlight weapon-attached light line, the TLR-3. Botach, Amazon, Andrew many others carry it ($60-70 range).

Before one of those $50 lights Falls off or fails when needed most. I would suggest a quality light. Streamlight's TLR-3's can be found for a low $65. I personally went with the TLR-4 on my 40C, cost me about $130. Money well spent in my opinion. Streamlight has a quality product that won't disappoint.

If you want a decent sub $50 light look into the Protech/Nebo HP 190. Great little light. It survived multiple range trips on my M&P 9, 45 and 15 Sport. Only reason its not on my pistol now is because I got a TLR 1 for Christmas.

That 9mm drop in barrel is not a bad idea, I might just pick one up for my birthday tomorrow. I never knew that those TLR 3 were so cheap, I always thought they were much more. I will definitely be picking up a TLR for my M&P. And I found someone locally that makes crossbreed style holsters for $45 bucks, so why not support a fellow gun enthusiast.

For weapon mounted Tac-Light I found Streamlight TLR 1's or 2's are the best. But the price range on both are way over the $50 budget you have. But Ebay does have some cheaper Chinese made lights that are airsoft weapon grade for that price. Meaning they may or may not hold their function when you run them through real weapon application (recoil, holstering/ unholstering, banging on walls..etc) But those are also aluminum and sometimes they do work...but I would not trust my life into one of those. For Holster I'm +1 witht the Don Hume.

Sticky Holster - no clips, stays with some compression and is very, very thin. And it is only $24.95. I have my 2nd and 3rd ones on the way. I was a Remora fan but decided to try the Sticky after seeing someone who had both talk about it. I do like it. Very versatile.

I use a TLR-1 as a minimum for a weapons light.

As for the concealment holster, you can't go wrong with this: Gun Holster Stage 3 Forward Cant | Old Faithful Holsters

Simple assembly, retention adjustable and if you ever wanted to use the holster for another gun, just buy a new kydex shell.

Can I drop a factory 9mm barrel in my 40c ? If so, do you know where can I find the 9mm barrel?

Yes. You'll need a 9c barrel and magazine also. I ordered mine through Midway but unfortunately they're on backorder.:(
