Starting July 1 and continuing for the rest of the year S&W is offering a $50 rebate on M&P pistols (not the M&P22) and a $100 rebate on M&P15 rifles (except the M&P15 Sport and the M&P15-22. They also offer a $30 rebate on revolvers. This is for active, retired, and disabled military and reservists.

I suspect, from their standpoint, this limits the number of people who can/will qualify for their rebate program. If they allowed those of us who were honorably discharged to participate, their costs for the rebate program would likely go up significantly. Oh well...

Does anyone know if S&W offers a discount program for law enforcement, like Glock's blue label program?

Uncle Sam beckoned and we answered his call. "We" were all promissed a lot of benifits, great jobs (from all the Military training) and other great stuff when we came home after our inlistments were up. ...we were sterotyped, spit on at airports (if in uniform) and got the run-a-round trying to find jobs when we got home. ...... I'll quit there while I'm still ahead.
Don't get me wrong,I'd still give my life for my country, freedom and the American way of life and do it all over again. Fun Travel Adventure.
It'd just be nice if S&W (and others) would remember us forgotten ones too.

I am under the impression that sales are already skyrocketing. I give them credit for the program even if I cannot participate. Some models are hard to get or in just enough of a short supply that you cannot negotiate on the price.
Regarding the way veterans are treated, sadly it has always been so. I doubt there are any WWI or even WWII veterans here, but they weren't treated well either. During the great depression, WWI veterans marched on DC for jobs and housing. In the years immediately after WWII, vets who committed crimes had their service mentioned in news articles. WWII vets with PTSD were pretty much told to "man up" and bear it. Audie Murphy slept with a 1911 under his pillow the rest of his life. My son is a Navy retiree and he had command of about 20 men. Yet he is working at just above minimum wage. It seems that the only jobs where military experience counts is railroads, post office, and airline pilots.
To all of you who have served in the US military, I say a hearty "thank you". IMO, you didn't serve for the freebies you might get afterward, you served out of a sense of duty to the country where you live. I salute you!

Thanks. And lets not forget the Korean vets that also got the bigger shaft on that so called "police action" they were in.

Not that I expect it will accomplish anything or even elicit a reply but I sent the following email to the Smith and Wesson folks:
"Just a note to tell you how disappointed I am to hear about your new rebate program. Seems you have purposefully excluded all veterans, except those who stayed in for a career. I call that arbitrary and capricious discrimination.
It won't keep me from buying a Smith product if I like it. I already own a number of your products and enjoy them greatly. A rebate has never been the deciding factor in buying one either.
Nevertheless, I think your new rebate program is an insult to most of the nation's veterans. You might want to consider how many other vets feel the same as I do."

I sent a note about "how about the rest of us Vets?" I did get a recieved reciept, and I imagine a quick delete after that.
The ironic thing. ALL Vets took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States. I figured that was a life time oath. Where would all those manufactures and CEO's be right now if we had some how lost our 2 A rights?

Unfortunately, the coupon excludes M&P Shield pistols and that's the only one I'm currently interested in.
I do have a coupon from S&W that doesn't exclude the M&P Shield pistols but it expires June 30 and I doubt if I'll find one by then.

I bought a Shield in May and used the rebate, haven't received it yet, but the tracking site shows it as a valid entry received. Now that I see this rebate is going on again, I'm wondering if I can grab a full size and use the rebate again. The small print says limit one per promotional reriod so I think I will be good.

And you also get the rebate so it's actually cheaper than Glock.

Is the rebate good for the M&P Shield?
I looked online but cannot seem to find a link to this particular rebate.

I'm on week 12 and still waiting for mine. Have called several times after the 8-10 week period and they keep telling me that it takes 8-10 weeks to recieve it. But when I tell them this is week 12, I hear crickets a on the other end of the line and get the answer of, it is being processed.

I think they might listen if everyone sent an email. I'm not a veteran, but my brother was in the Marines for six years (Desert Shield/Storm) and my uncle was an artillery forward observer in Vietnam so I know what you guys have done and I appreciate it.

What? I think you got bamboozeled. You can buy M&P's right now for $398 with stick sights and $455 with night sights under the 1st responder plan.
Edit: and you can get Glocks for the same $398 under the Blue Label program.

Bought my blue label Glock 17 back in February for $398 and I am retired military. Wanted to buy my Shield 9mm at the same LE distributor but there was not a LE model of the Shield - All the other M&P models were available at the discount BUT not the Shield. Had to pay MSRP for the Shield...

I think they are starting to come in now. I know Buds recently sold out of the LE ones. My LE LGS has some on order but haven't checked lately.

Just checked, and the Shield has no rebates. To bad liked the coin, along with $50.00 that have sent in the past.

For all those discontented S&W M&P owners - Think of the market that just closed for S&W - "CA shooters are no longer allowed to purchase a new S&W M&P firearm".
I personally want to acknowledge the makers of the extremely fine firearm that I just purchased; a S&W M&P9. I couldn't be happier and satisfied with this firearm,
Thank you Smith and Wesson

Older Veterans Meaningless To S&W
It is pretty sad as an ex Vietnam era veteran we were spit on when we came on home by friends and even strangers. Now S&W is spitting on us too, by not including all vets who served there country, especially during wartime in the current rebate program. I guess they consider us just all washed up, and meaningless.

I wasn't spit on when I came back from Vietnam having served in 1969. It looks like the rebates were discontinued Dec 31. 2015. Are there new rebates. I do draw a small disability from Vietnam.

I sent a copy of my retired ID (DD Form 2, retired) for the old rebate. Remember to cover the SSN or DoD ID Number when you copy the ID...
