Default Last Glock leaves this Saturday

Going to Sharonville GS this Saturday to sell my last Glock. Been shooting Glocks since the early 1990's. Since joining this forum and discovering the M&P's, I've sold 4 Glocks, only 1 left, plus a whole grocery bag of Glock magazines. I'll probably take the bag of mags and sell them also.

I don't get it. I have Glocks and M&P's. They are more alike than different. A sticker fired pistol is a striker fired pistol. Grip is a little different but I wouldn't sell all my Glocks or M&P's and have just one brand. Both are more accurate than most people can shoot and reliable. Each his own but I just can't become a fanboy or brand loyal. They are just tools to me. Guess this old guy is just out of touch!

I'm not a fanboy but if I like one brand better than another, then I will own pistols of that brand not the other. I prefer continuity in the way my guns feel and handle. Continuity in the spare parts department to support a group of weapons also makes good sense.

I have owned and worked on Glocks and M&Ps and prefer the M&Ps. The Gen4 Glocks have more problems than you can imagine as do some of the late Gen3. They have ejection issues and issues with the hardening of the recoil lugs and the triggerguards on Glock pistols are horrendous. I removed the hook on the front of the triggerguards on all my Glocks and slightly relieved the rear of the triggerguard to allow a higher grip. I am a reloader and want no part of a gun which can't shoot lead bullets and want no part of a gun with oversize chambers.

I will not own another Glock.

I was involved in a bad motorcycle accident on 04/06/2010, spent 8 months in a wheelchair. One of the injuries I recieved was to my right wrist. The median nerve was severed plus three of the tendons to my fingers were damaged.

I can no longer shoot the Glocks comfortably because of this injury.

The M&P's fit my hand so much better, that I am able to shoot 300-400 rounds when I go to the range. I'm only able to do 100-150 rounds with the Glocks.

That is the reason I'm done with Glocks. It has nothing to do with the Glock itself. If I could shoot the Glocks as much as the M&P's, I'd keep them.

Ok I understand in your case. I would do the same thing. Great that you can still do 350 at a time. At my age I can't shoot anything that much at one time. My arms and eyes and concentraton go after about 150 rounds! I rode too. Got old and to many idiots in 4 wheels on the road.

I never would have discovered the M&P's if I hadn't joined this forum.

Thanks to all who had a hand in steering me in the right direction.

Shoot often, shoot straight, and stay safe.
