SIGHT RADIUS & ACCURACY?
I'm trying to narrow down my decision on a set of night sights for my full size m&p 45. 1 set on my list are the truglo tfo's. After looking at them at my local gun shop I could actually see how long the front sight is. This obviously makes the sight radius shorter, which most say is a bad thing when it comes to accuracy. Owners of tfo's tell me what you think off them. I love the trijicon hd s but my wife will not like the ding out the bank account for such a small item. What sights are closely identical to trijicon hd s but for a little less $?

Longer sight radius makes for more precision, however the difference of less than an inch in sight radius on your pistol would not be noticeable.

RPG has it right. The tiny amount of difference you're talking about is insignificant to the M&P guns. They are not that accurate on their best day.

I recommend to wait and save a little more to get the HD'S, I have both sets of sights and I personally don't like the TFO's.

I like the ameriglos as well. Not sure if they have a wider or U notched rear sight which would be a plus

Unless you are consistently able to shoot 3" groups offhand at 25 yards with your present M&P sights, worrying about losing less than an inch sight radius is pointless. Such a slight change might be significant to an Olympic Free Pistol shooter at the top of his game.
And if you're wanting a wider rear notch for speed, well that does reduce the ability to shoot small target groups more than a small change in sight radius.
