Default .40 Bulk Ammo

Anyone know where I can get a good deal on some bulk .40 ammo? 500-1000 rounds?

I was looking around on Ammo Seek but I wasn't sure what my best option would be. I just picked up this pistol (.40FS) last weekend and I love it! Can't wait to shoot it ALOT more haha!

Thanks for the advise

I got a bunch of 9mm from Palmetto State Armory. They had free shipping this summer, they might still be offering that. I believe they are located in SC.

CCI Blazer Brass .40 cal 180gr FMJ

I'd go this route, if you don't mind reloads. They have a very good reputation. Same price in 165 grain, as well:

40 S&W 180 gr. RNFP

I checked all over the internet looking for cheap ammo prices. What I found it usually boiled down to was that by buying 1000 rounds at a time I might be saving the equivilant of a buck or two per box over Walmarts prices. Hardly worth the effort. I bought a factory 9mm barrel and a couple of mags (total with shipping a little over $100) and knocked off about $5 compared to .40 cal. I use the 9mm for practice and have found the POI to be virtually the same between the two calibers at pistol ranges (up to 25 yards). I shoot a lot though so I got into reloading. Now I can shoot 9mm for under $6 a box.

I reload too but I don't generally reload 9mm (not worth the trouble). Why not just reload the 40 S&W and be done with it?

So I really wont be saving but about $10...which would end up just going to shipping so I guess theres no point. I'll probably just buy out walmart every week haha

Reloading 9mm not worth the trouble? I save at least $10 to $12 per hundred rounds by reloading. I shoot on average about 800 rounds per month. For me that's a significant savings.

Obviously you've got a better source of components than I have. My cost using FMJ bullets would be about $.12 for the projectile, $.03 for the primer and $.02 for the powder or about $.17 per round ($8.50 per box of 50). I've tried lead bullets in my 9mms in the past and found they produced more leading in the bore than I wanted. The last batch of 9mm I bought on line was a little under $10 delivered from Palmetto. That was Blazer aluminum case but it was probably as good as I can make.

Not sure why you would have a problem with leading. I quit using cast because I got tired of cleaning the lube out of everything after a range session. I use Berry's plated bullets. I just figured up my cost and it actually works out to almost $6.50 per box of 50. It was less than $6 when I was using cast bullets. I never experienced any leading at all using hardcast bullets. I would still use them in a revolver I just hated getting all the lube out of the almost inexcessible places on my MP. It cleans up easy you just have to be able to get to it. Google search Berry's plated bullets. Accurate, clean, and reasonably priced. My local stores sell Blazer, Federal, and WWB for around $12 a box so I'm still saving pretty good even at $6.50 a box for my reloads.

Thanks for the info. I hadn't tried using plated bullets. My last cast bullet reloads made a mess out my Glock so I quit using them. I used to reload FMJ 9mms until the price of bullets made it cost prohibitive.

Google Georgia Arms, and check out their canned heat ammo. 40 S&W for 260/1000 rds. If you buy $500 worth of ammo, you get free shipping
