Detail Strip and New Sights for M&P22?

I have about 700 rounds through my M&P22 and am loving it. The sights suck big time, though. Don't know why S&W wouldn't at least put two dots on the rear. One guy on youtube has a video where he takes the whole assembly off and paints the rear, so when it's back together, it's a nice white outline under the front dot. Big improvement. I know S&W advises not to put new sights on since the slide is aluminum. Anybody have a clear solution?

Also, I know .22 ammo is dirty, and after shooting today, I was scrubbing the extractor area. Don't know what's going on inside. Anybody detail strip this gun? How easy is it?

I purchased and installed fiber optic sights for my M&P22 from Dawson Precision. Installation was straightforward and the pistol works without issue.

I've been looking at the Dawson sight too. Is the front site still adjustable after the install?
