Default Changing MP9 pro front sight

Hey guys!

I was going to carry a Mk23 for a 'duty' gun for LE work, and I think I'm gonna go with something slightly smaller lol...

so I picked up a MP9 pro. (hopefully chief will be ok with it)

I want to change the sights to a more traditional 3 dot sight. I really like tru-glo tritium sights.

I kno the front FO sight on the pro is pinned I think?

how can I get a front sight for the pro? are there 'pro' specific options?

thanks!

The Pro model requires a taller front sight (.180") vs. the standard models (.160"). I don't believe the sight is pinned.

ahh ok, that's what it is...

how does one get such front sight? aren't sights model specific?

and the rear sight is the same? I guess this is because of the longer barrel which means more velocity, so they they to impact higher?

Don't know why the taller sight is needed, maybe the dovetail is different? The rear sights are the same for all M&P models.

I prefer 10-8 Performance sights. They offer fiber optic, brass bead, or tritium sights in either height. Very high quality products. Not sure about other manufacturers.

I'll have to call tru glo...

I don't really like that 10-8 one. I would prefer a white circle or something around it to help me pick it up during day.

what would the width be?

kind of want to change the rear sight too, because I would want 3 dot setup. I don't like the all black. I actually don't understand those. I guess just make sure you can see the FO through the hole? I'll have to shoot and see how I feel wit hit. for police work, I would really want the tritium

The 5" Pro uses a extended rear that might make up for the taller front. I actually ended up with a shorter front on my 9Pro because I prefer a "Bullseye or 6 O'Clock" hold. My 40Pro shot to that from the factory with my loads. The fiber optics are too fragile for police work and night sights are usually taller both front and rear. A call to Novaks might be able to get the right setup but you will probably need to shoot the gun first with the load you'll be using to get the right ones.
