Default New sights for my Shield

I was lucky enough to pick up a new and a used Shield last month, so I thought I would send one of them off for new sights.

Based on another thread, I talked to James at XD-HS2000, and told him what I wanted. He assured me he could install the Tru-Glo TFO sights I wanted, and that they would be perfect when it was returned.

I also mentioned that I had another Shield, that the front sight had been replaced, but was not exactly dead center. He suggested that I send it along also, and he could fix it for me.

I purchased the TFO sights from him, and boxed up both slides and dropped in the mail on a Monday morning. On Saturday of that same week, the slides were back at my house.

The TFO sights were installed perfectly, and he was even able to align the front sight sight on Shield #2. He only charged me for the sights. Installation was free, and he refused payment for fixing the off-center sight.

I would highly recommend his work, and suggest that if anyone has sight work they would like performed, to please contact James.

His websight can be found here: Welcome

Enjoy,

Jerry

Did he send you the old sites back? Are the TFO's the same height as the original ones? I have a molded holster and want to make sure that the TFO's will fit.. .

Yes, he sent the old sights back to me.

The new TFO's appear to be the exact same height to me. If they are not, then they are so close that it is impossible to tell just using a naked eye.

I would imagine a molded holster would work just fine.

The issue I have with many sights is that the rear sights will look larger and that brings the eye travel back, instead of down the end of the barrel. Why I prefer the Trijicon HD's more.

In complete dark the front sight looks to be the same size as the rear.

I LOVE the TFO's Had a friend get em on his 19 then I bought them for everything. They are either the same size or a hair lower . Looking at the gun in hand they look lower but may be illusion.
