Default sight systems

well i have the M&P9 for a while and as with my other pistols (except glock) have the basic 3 dot sight configuration and thought about upgrading to a better sight system that will help with faster target acquisition and accuracy.

after doing some reseach found out how there so many different kinds of systems out there from the expensive mrds on a milled slide to a new pyramid style from advance tactical and to just a simple big dot from XS and many more.

wanted to see some feedback from people who would post up their sight system on how it helped them or not with the upgrade if it did improve their shooting, how the quality of the sights and difficulty of installation.

idunno if there's already a thread for this and if not i hope this will help me, current and upcoming M&P pistol owners whose on the market for an upgraded sights to give an idea of which product will work for them.....thanks!

I have the XS standard dot (not the big one) on both my compact and my full size M&P's. I absolutely love them. They are not long range target sights...although you can use them as such with practice.
Where they really shine is fast target aquisition. Like the makers say, they are a gunfighting sight. My M&P's are fighting tools, not plinkers, and as such they need to be fast. 3 dot's are too much for my measly mind to process. I like dotting the I.

I prefer the 10-8 Performance black serrated u-notch rear and the brass bead front sights. Used 10-8 rear sights on my 1911s for years and like them a lot, not switching now. They work great IMO on M&Ps. Their fiber optic front sights are nice too.

I plan on changing over to XS big dots, they simply make the most sense and will be the fastest on target. MRDS is an expensive option, I'm sure with practice you'd be good, I'm sure it would be easier to hit moving targets, but IMO big dots will be faster.

I believe in the KISS principle with weapons, sights included.
