Shield 9 for $430
Found a Shield at a LGS for $430. Probably the best price I've seen yet. Judging of the MSRP difference between 9c & 9FS it still seem a bit high. Thinking $400 but I doubt he can be talked down because everyone is over paying since they are hard to come by. I bet you can get a better deal if you wait, but that seemed like a good price for what the market us. Thoughts?

I'll bet it won't be there when you go back to the store. It's not a bad price.

At $430 it's a good price when nobody else has one. It's not overpaying really--it's simply economics of supply and demand. If it's not worth that much to you, then wait until supply catches up, or else buy a competing product. I paid $449 MSRP for my Shield three months ago--and I've had three great months of ownership. Compared to the money I've spent on ammo, the difference between $449 and a better price is minimal. Cheers!

Agree supply and demand. They probably paid more for it than they will in a year too. I think its fair especially seeing shields going for more than Full Size M&Ps on Gunbroker. I never been to this shop before. The small gun shops around here suck. Academy gets the majority of my firearm business. Never heard of this place was just passing by and say the store. They will get the majority of my attention now. Fair prices and polite are two things the other small shops are missing around here that this shop has. Even saw a used nice condition Marlin 336 for $375. Thats a score I think. $430 for a Sheild is not worth it to me, because I love my 40c. I would like it for my wife at that price if I was sure she'd like it.

I will probably bring my wife there Saturday. Their weekday hours conflicts with hers. If the Shield is there I will show her. I doubt it will be there either, but it wont break my heart. If the 336 is gone that might.

Too bad as you missed a good deal then. I was glad to pay $430 for mine a couple of months ago. Shooting it for a couple of months was well worth the price I paid rather than waiting for some reduced price in the distant future. A shield in the hand now is worth two shields in the future.

I paid $449. for mine a week after they came out. Didn't know anything about them but knew S&W had a good rep and the gun felt good so I bought it.

Just paid $389 before taxes this week for mine from my LGS. It was back ordered for 2 months, but I was in no rush to get it... I made it this long without one, what was another 2 months?
