Default Installed Apex DCAEK, struggled with accuracy

I had the Apex DCAEK kit installed on my M&P9c and tested it at the range today. I kept the stock sear spring in to make the trigger pull a hair over 4 lbs. I accidentally double tapped twice and struggled with my accuracy. This will not be a carry piece. 100 rounds I wasn't satisfied. Keep practicing with the lighter trigger or do you have suggestions on parts that could make it better?

I dont know your experience..... but it sounds like you need to just work on the basics.....
Should not double tap with a 4lb trigger unless there are some bad "nerves" involved.

The kit works great as designed. If anything, the factory trigger return spring is often left in to reduce trigger pull weight.

If you put the entire kit in, including the sear spring and trigger return spring, you should be in the 5-6.5 # range.

Personally, I wouldn't go below 5# in a carry gun. Mine is at 6.5 in a MA compliant 9c and I'm thrilled with that.

Also, in a MA compliant gun, the APEX trigger return spring is about 1# lighter than the factory spring. In a non MA compliant gun, the APEX trigger return spring is about 1# heavier than the factory spring.

Recoil can cause the double tap if your not familiar with the reset. . The reset is much less than the factory sear and will take practice to get used to it if shooting from reset.
