Default N82 Tactical

My "Nate Squared" tactical is awesome! It is extremely comfortable, tuckable, and very well made. Not sure how you could go wrong with this excellent holster! Plus this is a small American company - not made in China.

Have worn the holster a dozen times.

At first I didn't like the fact that the plastic belt clip interfered with getting a grip on the Shield upon initial draw from AIWB.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356996505.174031.jpg

I removed the plastic belt clip and installed the belt loop and strut from my RCS Vanguard 2 that I use daily for AIWB my Glock 19. I'd have to heat the shroud to get it to lie down but it might be worth it.

ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356996571.867303.jpg
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1356996583.469461.jpg

I reinstalled the plastic belt loop and was able to get it positioned out of the way and I can now draw without the belt clip in the way.

Overall, the carrying the Shield AIWB in the RDR holster makes it disappear.

The holster works and I will most likely order the Vanguard 2 strut kit and install it as I'm not so sure about the plastic belt clip.

Default DeSantis Nemisis as IWB

This is working great for IWB as well as in the pocket (front or back), and turns out it works so well that pocket carry of the Shield is now my preferred method. Holster stays put when you draw weapon, whether in pocket or even better when used as IWB. The DeSantis Nemisis for the Shield, versions with or without laser, sell new on ebay for about $20 shipped.

Right now for my Shield 40 I am using a small Galco. It is fairly comfortable, but has no back piece to cushion my hip from the gun.

I have this one on order from Winthrop Holsters:

As I ordered it in brown (vs. the standard black for the Shield), it had a 5-7 week delivery. It is due in any day now.

I purchased my .40 Shield on Saturday. Ordered the N82 professional on Saturday night. I am also looking at the Versacarry as a very lightweight option. Will probably get a pocket holster too. This website has been extremely helpful in researching and making decisions.

Bought the Allen Gear Tuck 3 for my SD9VE and the shell for the Sheild 9mm. I use the SD9ve shell for my Shield, works just fine. I almost forget I have it on. I could even use it for the S&W 22 compact

StealthGear Mini.
I started with a N82 pro, but I used it in a CCW class and had an alarming failure to draw rate of about 60%. I was great in my living room but at full speed moving under duress that retention system would've gotten me killed. the Mini and the StealthGear "Flex" OWB holsters are basically all I use now (I tried the alien gear as well, did not work for me)

I bought a IWB on Amazon, made by CYA Supply Company about 3 weeks ago for my Shield 45 and love it. I've worn it all over the place including a 7 hour car trip and it was very comfortable. I wear it between 3&4 o'clock, that's where it seems to be the most comfortable for me.

I recommend a Bianchi Model 135 Suppression holster which can be found at the below link.

Model 135 Suppression™ Inside Waistband (IWB) Holster - The Safariland Group

That is probably one of the most comfortable holsters I have ever worn. I don't have one for my Shield, but I've carried a full size Glock 22/31 in it and you couldn't tell I was carrying a handgun. My second choice would be a Crossbreed Supertuck followed by Alien Gear.

I have a shield 45 , but love my iwb holster. Made by CYA supply co. (make9/40 holsters as well). Veteran owned and the customer service was great. accidentally ordered for a .40 and emailed them. Sent me out the right and new one for free and a return label for the other so i could send back. They are on amazon as well and i believe i paid around 30-35 for mine.
