Default Shield holster recommendation

Just got a 9mm shield. Looking for a belt/ paddle holster and a pocket carry holster. Looking for recommendations. Let me know if you found something you like or don't like.

I use an Old Faithful tuckable IWB and a Desantis Nemesis pocket. the Old Faithful is very comfortable, customizable, and affordable. The Nemesis is great for when you want to just put the Shield in a coat pocket or to have it holstered around the house, plus with the textured/sticky exterior it does well as an IWB for quick grab-and-go trips (I've grown to liking appendix carrying IWB with the Nemesis)

Whitehat Maxtuck hybrid is the most comfortable holster I have by far. And, it is modular, so to use with different firearms, you just order a kydex scabbard.

The Remora gets used the most, as it is the most versatile....great holster. (Just don't order with a sweatshield, you can't draw properly without it bringing along the holster).

The N82 Pro is a great holster...very comfortable, and I love that it has positive retention. Problems for me is that it shifts around (and I have a very good belt), and that it is less concealable than the Whitehat, as the clip is on the outside of the scabbard, adding thickness to the thickest spot of the holster. I am a female, however, and may be more sensitive to these things.

I use a PJholster sometimes but most of the time I like to carry it in my Comp-tac Minotaur holster (originally for my M&P9c but shield fits as well).

I've accumulated four holsters for my Shield so far.
  • Remora 6ART - my most used, most comfortable holster, worn IWB at 3:30; easy on and off
  • Old Faithful IWB - comfortable and tuckable, but takes up more space in my pants than the Remora
  • DeSantis Nemesis - great for pocket carry in my back pants pocket or jacket pocket; this is the one I prefer for long motorcycle rides--I keep it in my motorcycle jacket pocket; before I got the Remora I would sometimes use the Nemesis IWB and it worked, but Remora stays put better
  • DeSantis Thumb Break Scabbard - used when I want OWB, which is seldom; for me this holster does not conceal well because the back end of the slide makes a noticeable bump under my shirt when worn with a cant; when worn with no cant, it is floppy unless I tighten my belt so much that it is uncomfortable (maybe I'm just not doing it right)
I've often wished for a nice leather IWB holster like a UBG Canute, but the cheap Remora does such a good job that I haven't been able to justify the expense. I'd also like to try a PJ because they look like the slimmest possible profile for a holster and everyone seems to like them.

OK....One that hasn't been named yet is the one I use. Desantis mini scabbard. It has adjustable retention also. I have the version that accomodates a CT Laser Guard. Really pleased with it.

I agree with the above posts. I have the Remora with sweat shield no problems drawing, smooth and most concealable for me, stays put, use it on the motorcycle . I also have the N82 pro. very comfortable, but thicker, still concealable. I like them both. No break in period for either.
