Default Front Sight Paint

Hey all since my dot fell out of my front sight, what paint can I get for the front to replace it and where can I buy it?

Id like something flourescent.

You have a ton of different options when it comes to "paint" choices, from
appliance paint to fingernail polish, and everything in between. Since I have
a Gander Mountian nearby I choose to use C&S Lure & Jig Coatings.

Whatever you decide to use, if not painting your sight white, wow, I'm rhyming up a
storm here, be sure to apply a base coat of white. If you don't, the color doesn't "pop."

C&S does offer a "glow in the dark" type of paint, but I have yet to try it.

I use the Bright Sights kit, but even Testor's model paint works well.

FWIW, I like green for the front sight also. White bleaches out in sun and the oranges and reds are too dark in shade.

I went with this solution...white base, green dot.

I finally shot the right rear sight dot out of my Shield at about 2300 rounds. I used Testors flourescent green in the rears and redid the front with fresh white.

I recommend using a toothpick to paint the sights. I used florescent orange nail polish for the front sights and black nail polish for the rear.

I saw a lot of various fluorescent colors at Walmart in the office supplies ares last week. A white base coat first seems to be very helpful. Dip a toothpick in and go for it.
