Just paid off my new M&P Friday eve. Now off to the FFL to fill out the paperwork.
Backstory.
Traded in an EMP in .40 back in May. Wanted something that was small to carry, but a little lighter as well. Loved the EMP, but it was a tad heavy for my tastes.
So I was able to trade my EMP for a Ruger SR22P and a M&P Shield. Well the Shield had to be ordered (no duh, right?) but also had to wait for it to be cleared by the Handgun approval board (Stupid MD laws).
Well cut to the chase, up comes November, still no Shields to be found, so I spoke to my FFL about getting a M&P Compact instead. He said sure, just pay the difference on the Compact.
So I saved up the last 2 months to pay off the difference and no M&P 9C (first choice). But the FFL did have a .40 in stock. I said "It's mine". Besides, makes it easier now since I already have a XDm in .40.
Now it's just the paperwork and the waiting game of getting the paperwork back from MSP, which is a 7 day waiting period due to the fact that the MSP calls in for the NICS check on regulated firearms (handguns, AR's, etc.) Downside is now the MSP is backed up on NICS checks. So I'll be looking at another 2 week wait till I can take it to the range.
