Default Shield .40 Break in?

So after countless hours of reading I was finally able to pick up my .40 shield And actually much to my surprise it was very simple and only ended up waiting about a week from the time I decided to purchase to having one in my hands.

Anywho, it's probably a little late as I have 100 rounds through it (federal 180s) but I was curious if anyone had insight to the proper break in. Is it just a given number of rounds through it or is there a specific guideline that I should adhere to?

Overall I am very pleased with this product, absolutely no issues whatsoever. Shooting about a 3 inch group at about 7 yards, not too bad for an unfamiliar gun. I find it very comfortable and easy to manage, it fits perfectly in my hands.

Last thing. Has anyone had any experience with the Talon IWB holster for the shield? Right now with out having personally seen many options for IWB holsters in the flesh the Talon seems to be the one that I am leaning towards.

Thanks in advance for any insight you guys might have

Thanks This is not my first gun as I have been hunting for almost 10 years now, but it is indeed my first personal hand gun and I intend to carry when the time is fit. That being said I also intend to hang onto it for quite some time and want to be positive that I take care of it in the right manner to ensure its longevity.

Default Shield .40 Break in?

As with all firearms: READ THE MANUAL (this isn't meant as yelling, just wanted to emphasize importance).

Clean & lube after each trip to the range to shoot. CLP a great choice.

Take a handgun course or two especially if you plan on carrying.

Default Shield .40 Break in?

Congrats!

I purchased a Shield 9mm a week ago - one range session so far with 200 rounds of various ammo.

For break in, I did the same as my M&P full size 9mm.
Clean and lube according to owners manual, shoot, clean and lube.

Picked up 500 rounds of 9mm this week, and will be at the range again Friday.

Man, I really like this pistol.
