Default Happy with my Shield again

I posted that I was unhappy with my shield because of my roll pin issue and the front dot falling off but I take it back and admit I was just ill. LOL, I also said I would never paint a new gun sight but I did. SW offered to fix it and gave me options but I just used finger nail polish and it looks very decent. I will be doing night sights soon anyway. I guess after the "My shield is garbage" post I feel bad for my little Shield. It is metal and polymer and mass produced, it will have a few flaws but none that would make me think I could not depend on it. SW's CS has been awesome to me

Nice post! We all get cranky from time to time. What sets most of us apart is the ability to re-think an issue and the ability to take back what we said, even if we thought it was well-deserved at the time, in order to give someone (such as S&W in this case) a second chance. That's a good show!

Most of us would jump at the chance to get a Shield, S&W hit a hommer w/this one. I'm an old guy that has been carrying a J forever and I'm waiting for things to die down, but I'll pick one up eventually.

One of the rear white dots fell off mine after 2 months. I used a dab of white fingernail polish, and honestly can't tell which one it was

I've never worried about the white dot falling off. I've found that shooting and cleaning darkens them up over time, so you need to periodically "refresh" the paint anyway.

As far as the roll pin falling out, yes, that should not happen. However, it's a five cent part. I just replace the defective pins with new ones from my local hardware.

Well the pin didnt fall out it would work its way to the right as you shot and after about 50 rounds it would be about 2mm out. It has not moved since I replaced it and SW sent a 2 pack.
