Not sure if there is a thread about this already or not, but we should make a thread for when the shields come in stock and where they can be purchased. Alot of people including me, until yesterday are having trouble getting their hands on one.

I appreciate the thread "in stock." I have been looking for 3 weeks. My deadline to get one is March, since it is a 21st birthday gift for my daughter.

They came in stock today at grabagun.com, but sold out fast...you just need to sign up for their 'email when in stock' notifications and you'll find one eventually.

(Grabaguns price is 430 for the Shield 9mm, higher for CA model)

The thing about having an 'In Stock' threads is that dealers are only getting a couple in at a time and in the time it takes to post that someone has one, it can be sold.

Case in point... Grab-a-Gun showed In Stock @ 12:08PM today. By 12:16, they showed Out of Stock.

Do they even have CA legal Shields in stock?
I am hearing conflicting messages.
One dealer told me that S&W is not even producing CA model yet.
Only God knows...

Tough to find stock these days. I yesterday ordered a fs m&p 9 from sportsmans outdoor superstore. They are out of stock today. Hopefully I actually get it, my order went through and there seemed to be stock after I ordered....but not today. Got the confirmation email and receipt, but it hasnt shipped, though I did just order yesterday and they list on the site that orders are taking a bit to fill given the volume. Just hoping they honor the sale. Paid $470

Just thought I would throw this out maybe someone might be interested. Found a 40 Shield this morning at a local pawn shop. Here's the info if anyone might be interested in calling them up.

I checked it out it was new. That was the only one in the case so I assuming that is the only one he had. The price was a little steep $599
but they usually give you a better price than whats listed on the gun. Hope this helps someone.

This is a good idea to have a thread like this. If anything else it can help local people. The there is a thread like this over at XD Talk where we post if we are out and about and see an XD-S in any of the LGS.

Comes in handy...SL Guns in NH had 12 Shields in 9mm on a first come first serve basis. No internet or phones sales so gives local peeps a fair shot at getting one. Kicking my arse for not getting one now lol

Their website leave a lot to be desired. 9mm shows in stock but when you add to cart it says out of stock. This day and age it isn't to hard to be accurate

Lol no worries! I have a 40 to as well as a drop in 9 barrel...just looking to add a real 9 if I got the chance....not a need by any means but a luxury

I found one on Gunbroker without any problem, but had to pay $ 100 over MSRP.

Yeah I have a 9 I'm giving to my wife and figured I'd grab the universal soldier 40 for myself and do the barrel and mag swap . So no issues for you with your conversion sir?

No issues whatsoever.....bought the barrel and also two 7 round mags and 3 of the 8 rounders. Last trip to range I put 150 round through no problem

Gander Mtn called me yesterday after literally a hundred calls to LGS and nationwide gun stores. $449.99 and 1000rds 9mm ball ammo to boot. It's gonna be a sweet 21st birthday for my daughter! To all of y'all, keep looking and don't pay over MSRP. Shields come to those that are patient.

Congrats. My Gander won't create a waiting list, so I have to just keep calling them.

Two weeks ago bought a Shield 40 for $399.00 at Academy Sports in Rock Hill, SC. You just have to check them frequently. They got 5 in and were gone in a day or so. They won't reserve either.

Most places here would sell out 5 of them in about 10 minutes.

I purchased a 9mm Shield yesterday for $454.99 shipped from D&L Shooting Supplies (online). They had both 40 and 9mm available at that time...

I bought mine from Silverbullet Firearms in Grand Rapids. They received two shipments in less than a week and both were sold out before the closed that night.

Most of the places around here are taking a first come first serve in person approach. I was lucky enough to be in the store when they posted the avaliblity to their Facebook page.

Just checked them out and they don't even show the Shield on their website.

In fact they seem to have very few guns on their website.

A couple of LGS around here I called, have them in .40 but 9mm's are non-existent.

The .40 is what I am looking for. Any chance they might ship them out of state to a local FFL dealer?

I'd say about 1/2 of the gun shops around the Seattle area have Shield's in stock. All of which are asking $600 still.

I've never gotten an email to let me know, while it's been in stock a few times since then apparently.

Just as a fwiw.....while I was waiting for the callback I talked with one of the clerks. He said he got 40 Shields in a week or so ago and he had 12 leftover to sell after all his pre orders were filled. I remember seeing the post on FB last week and decided to take a ride out just to look at his shop. Had no real intention to buy another but saw that he still had 3 left. Really like the feel of the the 40 so what the heck

Point is that maybe the supply is loosening up a bit as by no means would I say it is a big big store to get 40 of them in one shot

Still had 2 left when I rolled out of there. .....some dude was looking at one of the Shields but opted to order a MA compliant Kahr 9.

Just call D&L (M-Sat). Their website doesn't show the Shield's in stock but as of yesterday they had a bunch still available.

Just ordered my through D&L Thanks for the info.

So the lesson I just learned, is just because it isn't on their website doesn't mean they don't have it. Don't hesitate to call.

That where I just got mine, in 9mm from.
I got a noticed on FB that they were getting a huge list of firearms and would be on their website within the same day. That was this past Wednesday, Feb 6. I went to their site and found the Shield I wanted, and during my lunch break, I kept refreshing until I saw it as "In Stock" and bought it right then. When I bought it, it showed that 2 were left, but no idea how many they had to begin with.

That is the same way I bought my M&P 15-22 MOE Black yesterday at lunch. Said they were getting some Smiths in on FB but no mention of which ones. I saw the 15-22 saying OOS but when I re-sorted by position (I think this is what brings the in stock items to the top???) it showed available to add to the cart.

Now that I know how the website works it will make future purchases a bit easier. I trashed them a bit in another post for advertising in stock and then me not seeing it in stock. I owe them an apology, mea culpa

SGC usa has 40s in stock. 5 as of now.Found site on the slick guns sight.

I did a search and also scoured SGC's site and they don't even show the Shield on the site. Neither in stock, nor out of stock.

Plain not even listed on there.

Give them a call. D&L didn't show anything on their site either, but they had several.

Considering how "fast" these sell, it isn't surprising that a small business wouldn't waste the time updating their website.

Bobs Tactical has both 9 and 40 in stock. all are mass compliant, but if you can't wait grab one from them. i just spoke with them today.

I just called bobs tactical and they will not ship. I was excited when he said that he had them in stock but that ended when he told me he wouldn't ship. I've been looking for a shield on and off since last august.

Nicks Sports Store Palmer, MA (413) 283-3920 has them. Purchased 2 last Fri. Terrible trigger, gritty and about 10#. Worse trigger I've ever seen.

I doubt they will ship though. Noone seems to want to ship. A bunch of places have them but will not ship. Shoot straight in florida has them but will not ship. I've never seen one in any shop I've been to in IL.
