Default My Lucky, Lucky Day on Shield Purchase

I have been looking locally for a Shield in 9mm for over 6-months. I tried a "want list" for a short time but none became available.

Then I tried GB, and found the prices very high, but I bid on one in the mid $500's and got outbid.

So I was ready to give up, but decided to contact a local large gun shop that I had called about them before with no luck. Man there says yep, we have some in stock. I asked him twice to repeat that! He wouldn't hold one for me no matter what.

So, hopped into the car and drove at breakneck speed to get to the shop. They had three when I got there, one sold before I could get help with my purchase, and the last one sold before I left.

The price was in the low $400's, plus tax. I could not have been happier.

Took the Shield home, completely cleaned the Shield, oiled with very light oil as I do on all first time out pistols, and headed for the range.

I fire 30 rounds through the Shield, at which time I couldn't feel my fingers from the wind and cold. The Shield operated perfectly with no miss-feeds or jams, and had excellent combat accuracy despite cold hands, wind, and I had never shot the pistol before.

I would say this is one of the best days I have had in a very long time!

Lucky guy. Maybe you could pass some of that luck over here. Enjoy your pistol.

Got lucky with mine too. Just happened to be there when the fedex guy dropped them off. My range time wasn't as good though because the front sight lost its paint. Just popped right out. Gonna get big dots anyway so no biggie.

Thanks guys I appreciate the replies.

I have been on various gunboards for years and I read so many stories about lucky gun buys, but until now it just never happened to me.

With my luck today my only mistake was not stopping and buying some lottery tickets on my way home!
