Default Just back from the range....9mm barrel in Shield .40

All I can say is wow! What a great purchase this barrel from Guns and Gear was! Treated it with Frog Lube and headed out to the range. Zero issues at all. No hiccups, FTF, FTE, ..no nothing except 150 flawless rounds fired...mix of Federal Champion and WWB 115 grn.

I let a friend and his son both fire it and they were very impressed with the Shield and how tame the recoil was. My friend had his Beretta PX4 and I found that there was a lot more muzzle flip and recoil with that.

Gun is breaking in nicely with 300 rounds through it now. Trigger feels crisper and the action is smoother as well.

I was apprehensive on getting the .40 but I'm glad I did now. Basically 2 guns for the price of a barrel if you are on the fence about getting a 9mm barrel I'd say go for it. It worked like a charm. I am using 9mm mags as well. I have two 7 rounders and three 8 rounders. All worked awesome

Can't wait to get out again

I just picked up a .40 Shield today. Thanks for the report. I've run the Storm Lake conversion in my 5" 40 pro series and I love having the option. Glad to know that this will work too.

Glad you like the 9mm barrel in your .40. And yes it is good to know u have 2 guns for the price of a barrel. Now days, i dont see why anyone would keep waiting in line for a 9mm, when they could wait less for a .40 and still end up with a 9mm also.

PS: Synyster06Gates, it is not listed on their website. You have to call them and tell them u want a Shield 9mm barrel.

Default Barrel for Shield

Glad it worked out for you. I got one too and use the 40 mags with no problems. As you said 2 guns for the price of a barrel. Can't be beat. Enjoy it.

I did notice that the primer strike on the 9 mm casings is just slightly off center. I guess this is to be expected?

By no means complaining as it shot like a dream Very happy
