So my trip to the range went okay. All the typical problems probably happened to me.
On the first shot the white of the front sight came out. You can see it here:
Also, I did have a stove pipe or FTE at around 150 (which from the forum seems somewhat normal). And I had a misfire around round 100 (on the Hertzer ammo). I looked it saw that the primer had been striked, but no fire. It was not a light primer strike either. But just to see I put it back in and it fired off.
Now to stipulate, I am pretty new to pistols and I could tell today as I was shooting I was jerking a bit. The trigger distance was shorter than what I am used to so as I was practicing drawing I continually didn't have my finger placement correct. You can see that as the center of my shots are low and sometimes to the left. Overall I like the Shield, I think it will work great. I like the trigger. I just need more practice and everything will be fine. My shooting in the pictures was about 1 round per second, standing with no rest. After the first round knocked out my front sight, I continued and got 300 rounds in with my black front sight. But I can definitely tell now that the grittiness that I was feeling pre-firing is gone.
Here are some pictures using PMC ammo (115gr). These are the first pictures which represent the very first shots taken from the gun starting with 15 rounds at 3 yds:
30 rounds at 7 yds:
15 rds at 10 yds:
Here's 15 rounds at 7 yds with Hertzer's ammo (115gr):
After I took all the pictures, I started getting a little better and focused on finger placement on the trigger and not pulling so hard (jerking). Now I need to get some fingernail polish and next month I can purchase my new sights (XS Big Dots).
If you want me to continue with range reports and pics let me know and I will.
