Hey guys, after a shooting trip this weekend, I was cleaning the 22 pistol and I broke the take down lever tab with my thumb. Wow, Can't believe it broke so easily. Once you turn the lever to the 6 o'clock position, you have to pull it out about a 1/2 inch to strip the pistol. I have never pulled the lever completely out of the gun, but was able to do it and get it cleaned. Got off the phone this morning with S & W and they are sending me a new take down lever. My question to the community is do you guys have any tips for getting the lever back in the gun. The manual says to put the tab at 9:00 o'clock and at a 45 degree angle. I am having trouble picturing this in my mind. I did not try to put the broken lever back in and will be inserting the new one when I get it in the mail in a week. Just thought I would inquire from some of you more experienced M & P 22 shooters who have completely taken the lever out of the gun. Can you describe how to put it back in. I checked out all u-tube video's, but none of them remove the lever further than the 1/2 inch necessary to clean. My lever was tight and it was difficult to pull it out the 1/2 inch. Can't believe I snapped a piece of metal with my thumb.
Anyway, thanks in advance and I am just trying to figure out how to put it back in when it arrives
