Default M&P22 First Round Stovepipe

I was shooting a type of IDPA, using my M&P22 pistol and when doing a fast reload from slidelock, the top round would stovepipe. I found it was because I was ramming it in too hard and the top round would pop partially up from inertia and then not feed correctly. The mags are all adjusted perfectly and I wouldn't want to tighten the feed lips any more than they are, so I tried the soft reload and no more problem. Only adds a small fraction of a second to my time and saves having to clear a malfunction.

I believe that is a fairly common problem.

Which IDPA class allows .22s? I'm new at this and haven't seen any at our competitions yet.

It's called "Defensive Shoot". It uses the most of the same rules at IDPA, but more lax as for equipment.

Our guys will allow .22s but do not score them. I heard IDPA was considering .22s at one point, but never approved them for competition.
