M&P45c vs. Glock 30s

Anyone want to make the comparison? I'm very happy with my M&P 40c. But, I must admit, I think about the 45c as an alternative CCW. Now, with the introduction of the Glock 30s, I'm considering a 45.

What do you all think?

I can't make a comparison, but I do love my Glock 36.

Re: M&P45c vs. Glock 30s

For compact versions the Glock grip works better for me. In fact overall the Glock 21, 30 work better for me but i like, and own the full size MP45.

MP45 is thinner but the Glock holds more ammo with a flush mag. More accessories for the Glock.

You can't go wrong with either. Go for the best deal and/or availability.

I've ordered a Glock 30S. First Glock I've ever purchased. I've no interest in any M&P, having shot them extensively. Evidently LAPD's SIS, a unit which specializes in hunting dangerous felons, doesn't have any interest either. They approached Glock to get the 30S made.

I'm no Glock fan, but maybe this Glock 30S will convince me. The regular Gen 3 Glock 30 I shot prior to ordering the 30S was very accurate with an OK trigger right out of the box. No failures or problems but I only shot 100 rounds through it. My 0.02 YMMV. Regards 18DAI

I like my 45c but I have been looking at the 30s as well

This is easy. If you are used to, and like, your M&P .40C then you will probably struggle with the Glock a little.

Why? Grip angle.

The grip angle on the Glock is a little more extreme than the M&P. Thus, most shooters, who switch from a M&P to a Glock, tend to either shoot high or develop a little bit of a flinch.

All of that can be overcome through training a practice, if done correctly. Still, it is more difficult to transition between the two guns. I recommend sticking with guns that have the same grip angle.

M&P45c vs. Glock 30s

The 45c is my favorite of the M&P line. Superb accuracy/reliability, perfect size, and the same capacity/felt recoil as a 1911. I have a G23 thats gets carried every once in awhile but nowhere near as much as the 45c. I've been looking into a G30sf for the potential magazine capacity and octagonal rifling but I'm not interested in a G30s because the decrease in weight and slide width is not worth the additional felt recoil (especially with hot loads) from what I've been told. Took me 6 months to find a 45c last year and good luck finding any of the G30 line these days. Who am I kidding though? I'd buy any of them if it was in front of me.

Never carried either, but have carried G21s and a full size M&P 45. The M&P should be easier to conceal than the Glock 30. I haven't seen the 30S, but the 36 slide may make some difference. Go play with both and see which feels better and you shoot more accurately, then worry about how to conceal it.

Glock 30s M&P 45c
Length 6.9 7.55
Height 4.8 4.8
Barrel Height .79 ?
Width 1.28 1.2
Length between sights 5.91 6.3
Barrel Length 3.78 4.0
Unloaded Weight 20.28 26.2
Loaded Weight 30.16 35.6
Trigger Pull 5.5 7.0

LOL! I know this because I was thinking the same thing. I will probably go with the Glock 30s once they become more available. Right now, a $550 Glock is selling for more than $900 on GB. If you can't wait, I would go with the S&W.

Having gone through almost ALL the glocks, Colt 1911, SW 3rd gens, I have and keep only one 45acp. The MP45c is superior in every category to all of them!
