Default Apex aek trigger - trigger bar loop adjustment

Recently picked up an apex aek trigger from a member here. Not an action kit mind you just the trigger to reduce travel slightly. Going to install in a newer (Jan 18, 2013 test fire) fs 9mm. From the install vid the trigger bar loop may need to be adjusted. This is really my only worry about the process.

Anyone install one recently on a newer pistol? Curious how much adjustment was needed on the newer 9's. Any tips/Intel appreciated.

I put one in my 40c, (test fired Aug 2012) no adjustment needed. But if you require adjustment, just follow the guidance in the video. BTW, I LOVE it. MUCH better than the squishy poly-swing trigger. And it adds a certain aesthetic improvement, IMO.

If you're using just the AEK Trigger, you won't need to adjust the loop at all. The factory sear lobs is further forward than the lobe on our sears so the trigger bars don't normally need to be tweaked.

Thanks for the replies, I actually put the trigger in last night. I think it will need a very slight adjustment. Its funny, when I put it back together and drove the sear block pin in half way to test, it functioned correctly. When I drove the pin the rest of the way, the pistol cant quite fire but will if I manipulate the slide slightly. Guessing a very slight opening of the loop will be enough.

Good luck! Remember, it's better to adjust too little, than to adjust too much. Small adjustments :-)

I made a small adjustment and it was enough, trigger functioning properly and I like it. Just curious, on the RHS if you look at the where the trigger sits through the frame, you can see the trigger bar (silver) dipping below the frame where the preset pin was driven all the way in. Not a big deal, but just seems weird. Is that normal?

Your OP stated you only got the trigger, not the full kit. Make sure you check that the striker blocker is clearing, so the striker contacts the primer. The kits come with a revised blocker, that makes up for the shorter pull. Easy test with a snap cap or a fired casing. Just put some tape covering the back and make sure the striker is contacting and puncturing the tape.

Ok, good. Love this trigger, got rid of a lot of unneeded travel. Much more efficient pull. Usb away from greatness!

Hi Scott. I used just the AEK on my FS .45 and I needed significant trigger bar loop adjustment. Will I need to adjust even more when I put the rest of the kit in?
