Default Is this a good price on a M&P22?

I stopped by my LGS today looking for ammo and ended up taking a look at some pistols.

They have a used M&P22 for $275 that is in good condition and comes with everything (case and manual). They also have a new one for $350, but I can't see much that can go wrong with a 22 caliber pistol.

My question to you all is a $275 for a used pistol in good condition a deal? I figure with the money I save on a used one I can by a couple mags as I know they're on the expensive side.

Also, does the S&W stay with the gun if I buy used?

Your new price is already $40 lower than any of my dealers. For that little of a difference I would buy new so you can be the original owner in case any issues arise and you need S&W's assistance.

I noticed that the new price seems to be lower than what a lot of retailers are selling for so I'm tempted to buy now just for the reason you mentioned.

If S&W's warranty doesn't apply to a used firearm then I will most likely go new so I have the warranty. It's worth pay a little more for that.

Remember to run them "wet", whether you buy it new or used. I use a couple of these for teaching and they run like sewing machines when you use a little motor oil to lube everything.

Guess I should have gone straight to the well for any info on the warranty but I Thank you for posting that info.
Looks like I'm covered by buying used so I look forward to adding another S&W product to my lineup.

Are you sure you are covered by buying used? The warranty covers the gun for the "original purchaser." I would think that would mean the original purchaser of the gun brand new.

My mistake. I meant to say it looks I wouldn't be covered. I know S&W has a great warranty policy, but for the amount of money I might was well buy new. Can't wait to add another S&W to my lineup.

For peace of mind and the warranty I'd get the new one for $75 more. I shoot 100's of time more rounds through mine than my other two handguns combined.

The new price is superb. We sell them new for $399. Assuming that you "dealer" is actually a gun store who buys new from the factory distributor.

They do. They're a fairly large gun store and do a lot of volume with S&W.
