So what.. If they want to buy 5 or 10 thousand rounds it's no one's but their own business.
A thousand rounds ain't squat.
I am quiet sure many doing the complaining have more ammo on hand today than they did a year ago.
But of course that's different somehow.
Maybe anyone that feels like they are being treated unfairly should tell me how many rounds I am allowed to have...
Yeah , I'd like to hear that.

It took me two hours to find 9mm ammo online, and yes, I panicked and bought 10 of the 31 boxes on stock. The real difficulty is finding an inexpensive range-round for target shooting. All I can find is shoot-through-wall-to- the neighbors-place rounds online. The shooting range I go to seems to have inexpensive range-round so I buy them there. Now I just need to find some bad guys for the hollow-points- not.

I just came back from 2 gun shops and no 9mm to be had. I just shot 100 last weekend and will have to stop until I can replenish. I also don't have time to stalk the gun shops. Sucks.

9MM Ammo
Try Dick's. If they have it. I call every few days. When I am lucky it is $14.99 for box of 50. Been getting Remingtons.

Nothing in NE FL, except for very expensive SD rounds at Gander Mountain. Bulk pack 5.56 and 9mm and .45 has disappeared. WalMart is getting squat in and they haven't seen .22 LR in months.
Geoff
Who passed up 420 round cans of 5.56 waiting for a sale. Oh well he who hesitates is loused!

Man, talk about rockin' it! Went to Larry's Pistol & Pawn in Huntsville, AL yesterday. Hornaday (sp?) reps on site. Ammo at cost! And I'm not talking about a few types. It was ALL the Hornaday ammo!!! I bagged my limit!!!

that's my plan, I don't HAVE TO shoot so I have decided to say "to hell with the price flippers and getting ripped off" and just not buy overpriced ammo, period.
I have my gun they cant stop me from getting one now but as far as the ammo for it, I don't care if I have to wait until next year to buy ammo. I will make the exception to buy a few hundred rounds to test proof the new gun is working correctly but after that its going into storage until ammo is cheap again.
I plan on buying ammo at or very near to normal pre Obama/Biden prices so I expect to wait until sometime next year (maybe?) when the shelves are all full again and then I will stock up on a few thousand rounds and then only shoot what I can replace from that point on.

If you want ammo forget the urban big box stores and take a road trip to the small gun shops in the small rural towns. That's where I get mine.

Last couple times I stopped at Gander Mountian they had a few boxes of $50 for around $25 I think and bulk 250 for $99.
A local Walmart this am had no .22 or .380 or .40 or .45 but did have 7mm and .410 and .308 and 30-06. Didn't pay much attention to those prices since I don't have a use for them.

walmart still sells ammo at pre ammo crazy stupidity prices so its still being sold at the same prices you paid for it last year.
my friend found one of the very few times walmart had ammo (delivered while he was standing there) and he bought one of the three boxes they had. he got a box of federal 100 rounds 9mm 115 grain FMJ for about $18 (it was $23 after taxes)

Retired with plenty of time on my hands, but that doesn't mean I want to spend it down at Dick's or Walmart every morning checking to see if i can pick up a box or two....Might need to start practicing with my old crack-barrel pellet gun again.

I still do that every time I get bored now that I live in the city. Can shoot a pretty small grouping across the back yard. Perfect for squirrels!

Academy gets shipments 2-3 a week. But the limit is one box per customer per day for each caliber. Bought a box of FMJ on Monday for $12.99. But they were gone pretty quickly. Local gun ranges in Houston have 9mm as well. The prices range from $18.99 - 24.99. Some of them sell only for range use. Others have limit of 2 - 5 boxes. Still cheaper than the price gougers on gunbroker.

LGSs in my neck of the woods usually have it from 13.99 to 15.99 per 50 depending on brand. Seem to have plenty of 9 all the time. 22 is the hardest caliber to find now

None. They can justify anything. Logic need not apply. It is all about feel good emotion for them.

wally world
well wally world had 20 boxes of 9mm (1000 rounds) and 4 bricks of 22lr (2000 rounds) delivered yesterday, all was sold out by 6pm.
they had plenty of S&W 40 on the shelf unsold and said not many people were looking for it. no 45ACP was there or been delivered in over 2 months.
the 22's were Remington brand and all 9mm were made in Serbia (PPU brand) but its ammo so at least European ammo makers are willing to supply ammo to retail customers in the USA.
the 22's were 3.57 a box of 50 or $35.70 for a brick of 500
the 9mm was 50 rounds of 115gr fmj for 14.95
3 box limit total per day no matter the caliber you buy so its not 3 boxes per caliber as someone thought

We went through this when the President was first elected. Everybody KNEW there was going to be no ammo available so panic buying occurred and sure enough those who did not panic had trouble finding ammo. Once the panic was quieted ammo was again available.
Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. So here we are coming to the end of another round of panic buying and soon we can all buy ammo again at hopefully a reasonable price...

Ask all the folks who don't have anything better to do than call Walmart stocking, or stand in line for long hours waiting for the truck to unload, then buy as much as they can...

I'm done with this 401K thing. When ammo gets ceap again, I am buying as much as I can and will wait for the next kook to unload on innocent people and politicians to blame it on the guns, so I can sell my amount at a 500 mark up..
