Hey there, I wanted to know what you think of the Truglo TFOs. I was thinking of purchasing the all green ones for my shield. It would be great to hear from someone who has used them for a while and can maybe share pictures. Are they durable? Have you had any issues with them? Thanks!

Thanks for the response. So far I have heard mostly positive things on other forums. I think I will get these.

I have them on my M&P .45. I have fired about 500 rounds since installing them. I like them much better than any other sight I've ever used. They are very easy to acquire during presentation and glow perfectly at night.

I got the green front and gold rear. This draws your eye toward the front sight which is what you want.

That's great. I'm glad they have been great for you. I kind of like the all green more but I can see how the yellow rear would work a bit better.

I have them on my 2 M&Ps, Sig P226 and in my Glock 19. More than 10000 rounds between all, no one failure.

I had Trijicon night sights on my M&P40 FS. They were ok in almost total darkness, but were no help in the dim light.

I have TruGlo TFO's on my M&P9c & I love them. The fiber optic inserts make them great in almost all lighting conditions, especially dim lighting.

Here is a picture of them in total darkness. You can see that they are pretty bright.
The left side is with the gun at arm's length. The right side is a close-up. The picture on the right makes the front dot appear smaller than the rears, but it's the same size. The picture is deceiving.

That makes me definitely lean towards the truglo. I was going to get the trijicon Hds from optic planet online but the wait is 5 to 7 weeks for the yellow ones. I don't want to wait that long. They had the best price at 77.

I got the TruGlos from Amazon for $90-ish after shipping, and I had them in a few days.

My M&P 40 sports the green on green and I love them. The best of both worlds IMHO. Bright as heck during daylight hours and brighter than my other tritiums at night.

So far I guess truglo is the most recommended choice. There was soneone on YouTube saying that you can get dirt or liquid inside where the rods are because it isn't sealed. Has that happened to anyone?

LOL. Getting mud & rain/snow on a firearm is not a new phenomenon to me from my Army days but yes - it has to be rarer for civilian use.

I have the TruGlo fiber optics on my Sig 226... I wanted the red in front which isn't available on the TFO. I also had this same arrangement on a Glock. These are wonderful for old eyes. Tried other brands but came back to TruGlo.

Not to hijack, but also thinking of getting Truglo TFO sights for my M&P 9C, but have a question on vision.

I use reading glasses and have had to wear them at the range in order to get sight alignment. Much harder to do without glasses, but want to start practicing without them, as I anticipate any self-protection senario will not allow me to dawn the specs.

So my thinking is that the Truglo sights will afford me a clearer sight picture with these old eyes. Looking for confirmation from others that have near sighted challenges.

I have the all green TFOs on my Shield 9mm and Trijicon HDs on my G17 Gen4. Really like the sight picture of both sights but the TFOs have the best sight picture of the two in bright daylight.

Have the same on my Shield and Compact.

I guess his point was it could happen. He was comparing them to meprolights. I think it probably wouldn't be an issue but I wanted to ask those who have the truglo sight to see if it has happened to them.

Nice. I see you have the N82 tactical pro holster. I hear a lot of good things about their holsters. I might get one in the future.

I'm trying to decide between the truglo and warren tactical for my FS and C. Any user feedback on the warren tactical sights?

I have the same problem and use reading glasses or bifocals. I now have the TruGlo TFO's but unfortunately have yet to make it to the range to try them out. I also bought some shooting glasses that have a small bifocal thingy at the bottom of each lens. I'll try those as well.

I have the tfo sights on my 40c and am very happy with them. I have a warning for you though . I would not try to drive these sights in with a hammer. I would press only and if you give them to any gun shop to install make sure you confirm that all three lamps glow in the dark. I took mine to a gunsmith and heard a lot of pounding and he gave me my gun with the tfo installed . After I got home and looked at the gun in the dark I noticed only two were glowing and the third was dark / dead.
I noticed this in an ebay sellers ad
"As With All Night Sights, We Recommend Professional Installation of Truglo TFO Sights. If you plan on having your sights "tapped" or "beat" into place Truglo will not warranty the product. Truglo will gladly warranty any product that is defective, they will not warranty an incompetent installer"

I have the all green ones on my Glock 19. I love them. Excellent visibility especially in low light or darkness. Very sturdy and working fine after about 700 rds. If I were to do it again, I'd get a different color front sight though.

Reading glasses and self defense shooting is a problem. I have the same issue. My reading prescription is not strong, but I can't get a clear focus on the front sight without my glasses.

The TFOs definitely help however, here's a tidbit for you; stop looking for perfect alignment. For self defense out to 10 yards you don't need perfect alignment. At 15 yards you'll have a tad more time. Closer in than 7 yards and you can use the flash sight picture.

If you're shooting in competition then consider getting some reading glasses with the prescription at the top.

I have the TFO's on my M&P45 and the Trijicon HD's on my FS M&P9 Pro, M&P9c, and M&P Shield 9. I like the TFO's but much prefer the Trijicon HD sights. Yes they are a little more expensive but easier and better front sight acquisition in my opinion.

On the shield is it noticeable that the rear truglo sight doesn't fit? I saw someone here mentioned it doesn't look like a good fit.

Have TFO sights on my 40FS. They are the best iron sights I've ever used. No durability issues to date, and they have been in service for about a year.
