Botach has a sale on Trijicons, you might look at an RMR:
Trijicon RM05G RMR Dual Illuminated 9 MOA Green Dot Sight
Use code " trijiconrmr" for 25% off. It makes it like $360 with free shipping
But you'll still need a mount...

I have the 9MM CORE and love it... no special mount required for the Trijicon ... took 1 minute to mount... also added a light and laser... my opinion best gun out there... especially with the modded trigger...stock trigger is excellent but could be better...now if you can only FIND one... got mine at Atlantic Tactical...awesome service there and I live in Florida!

got mine on gunbroker for $660 but that doesen't seem to be the going rate, most are going from $725 to $825
I'll have to check out Triijicon, I shot a J-Point, it fit the gun perfectly I am considering it($285 ish), not crazy about the battery not being totally shut off ever and needing to replaced about every 6 months, Also really like the Leupold Delta point, battery has auto shut off, but its kind of expensive($399)
Thanks

I'm sure a machinist could make a base if they don't come out with one soon, I too am a fan of the Burris Fastfire

My M&P40 Core came with 5 separate mounting plates to accomodate: Trijicon RMR, Leupold Delta Point, Jpoint, Doctor, C-More STS, and Insight MRDS. Screws were included with the gun purchase for all these sights except the Trijicon. For Trijicon, S&W says to use the screws that come with the sight.
I mounted a Trijicon 6.5 MOA, and as stated above, it took about 1 minute. The Trijicon uses the type-1 plate (that came with the gun) and nothing else was required. It's a perfect fit and does co-witness.
I'm very pleased with the gun and how easy it was to mount one of the supported sights.
