Default 9mm Shield issue or is it me?

I think it is me but I just need advice on how to fix it. In the past 2-3 weeks after a day of carry in my whitehat holster I go to put my shield in the safe and the mag has been ejected. This has happened twice but in my opinion once is to much. It shoots just fine no mag issues. My guess it I am somehow hitting it. I also have a Foxx Trapp for it and I am trying to remember if it has happened with that holster.

I have had the shield for probably 4 months. My typical carry position is 3:30-4:30 slightly canted. I am not to large 5'11'' 180lbs.

There's a thread on this forum titled, I think, M&P 40 magazine drop. You might review that thread.

Try it in the Foxx Trapp holster for a few weeks and see if it does the same thing. Does the Whitehat holster cover the mag release? If it does, is the holster somehow pushing on the mag release (too tight, etc)? Do you unconsciously keep putting your hand on the gun to make sure it is still there or to move it into a more comfortable position? Can you post a few from a few different angles of the gun in the holster?

Their problem is the mag falling out while shooting. Mine shoots fine.

I do not move the holster once it is on the hybrids are hard to move. But I believe the whitehat does cover the mag release. I will try the trapp exclusively for awhile and pay attention to if i touch the gun to much.

i think they are similar problems... When your a RIGHTY the release button is either near your fingers or against your body. Slight touch, and the mag is out.. Being a LEFTY i have neither issue, and neither have ever happened to me.

I think I would contact S&W. There are know issues with a slightly weaker mag release springs on some Shields including the 9mm. I personally have seen two 9's go back to S&W for replacement.

If it only happens in the holster, then it seems that pressure caused by the holster or your body, or both, is the obvious culprit. I would try a different holster.

Just looked at both holster and the mag release is not covered by the holster.
