M&P22 jammed, won't fire
I've shot around 750-1000 rounds through my M&P22. (Remington Golden and CCI mini-mags). Cleaned it after last time and put it away.
This morning, I shot 250 rounds through it. Worked great until a Remington Thunderbolt jammed. (100 Aguila Super Max, 50 CCI mini-mags and 90 Remington Thunderbolt in that order)
Here's what I do know: Several of us had been shooting it and it was operating flawlessly. My son noticed that my wife was having trouble getting it to feed. He tried to clear it and noticed multiple rounds were jammed together. i dropped the magazine, racked it several times to clear it out. Before I inserted the magazine I looked and noticed a casing stuck in the barrel. Pushed it out from the front of the gun with a brass rod. The case was split down next to the rim. (Sorry I don't have the round anymore).
Everything seemed clear so I tried it again. I can hear the "click" when I pull the trigger, but it doesn't fire. Brought it home, field stripped and cleaned it. Nothing obvious to me, but I'm not an expert.
What should I look for / do before I go out again?

Probably need to check for debris in the Chanel. Pull back the slide about a quarter inch to cock it and without letting the slide move back pull the trigger and see in good light if the pin moves. Maybe stick some paper in there to see if it leaves an impression if you can't see it.

A buddy told me the same thing. All kinds of residue had built up around the end of the pin.
I field stripped it. Then took a plastic bic pen cap and pushed the pin out where I could see it. Cleaned it real good with Hoppe's #9 bore solvent, lint free rag and a brass bore brush. Also cleaned around the end of the barrel where it seats. Then reassembled.
Since I live in town, I can't run magazine through to test it. Instead, I pulled the slug out of a round and dumped out the powder. Stuck the empty and fired it just out the back door. A little "Poof" and an impression left on the rim. I think it is good to go.
Thanks for the advice.

Welcome glad to help someone. Seems they are always helping me! The M&P 22 is quite fun to shoot and remarkably accurate depending on the shooter!

This video might give you some insight.
S&W M&P22 Slide Disassembly
It may just be real dirty. I would scrub the chamber out real good and, if I dared, clean the firing assembly. Use your head and don't do anything you are not comfortable doing.

Remington Golden and especially Thunderbolts, are extremely dirty. A friend of mine and me both have M&P22's, I use only Mini-Mags and he uses Remington Golden and Thunderbolts. He had a case get stuck, I pushed out with a dowel and the chamber and barrel were extremely dirty and gunked up. We cleaned the gun and firing pin channel with spray cleaner, a light lube and it has run fine since. I can run several bricks of Mini-Mags, before I need a cleaning.

What spray cleaner are you using? I want to flush all the gunk out before my next range trip.

Anyone know where to buy the blue plastic piece in the video for holding the slide or know what it's called?

Looks like a "Wheeler Universal Bench Block" - search for it on Amazon.

That is an armorer's block.
Here is one by Apex, generic for most polymer pistols POLYMER ARMORERS BLOCK | Brownells
The one used in the video is available as well, i just couldn't locate it quickly.

UPDATE
Bought some "Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber" and cleaned all the crud out of it, paying particular attention to the firing pin. Took it to the range last week. Fired 120 rounds perfectly - Thunderbolts, Aguilla, and American Eagle.

Brings up another question from a new shooter with new M&P22. Watched a lot of videos regarding the field stripping and cleaning of .22. None mentioned the cleaning of the face of the firing assembly where the firing pin comes out) I watched the complete disassembly video posted by M&Pfreak (very good) but at this time will not attempt something as complicated as that. MY question is the area that the firing pin comes out. Should I be using any solvent on this (I presently use hoppes #9) on the rest of the gun. Should I just use a nylon brush on it without solvent? Should I put a little oil on it? First time I ever knew what the firing pin looked like was on that video. Sorry if I don't know the right terms for everything. Have not picked up a gun in over 40 years, but finding this to be somewhat additive much to the dismay of my bank account.
BTW. I've gone through 550 rounds of CCI mini mags and CCI standard velocity (total) only one failure to feed (probably me) everything else great.

I shot close to 1000 rounds through it before the jam. Just did a routine cleaning WITH the Hoppes solvent until then. It was FULL OF CRUD. The canned stuff (Gun Scrubber) let me dissolve and blow all that stuff out.

Try not to get any CLP inside the fire block. It should be clean and dry. Use Gun Scrubber to flush out the dirt. Be sure to relube the rest of the slide as Scrubber will leave it un protected.
