Anybody reloading for the Shield .45
I know there is a reloading section but was hoping for a little more exposure. Is anyone reloading for their Shield .45?
Looking for powder recommendations and OAL, I have a mixture of SP and LP brass, I will be using 230 RN bullets
Thanks Matt

I'm loading Zero 185 HPs for all my 45 acp, including my shield 45. Accuracy is superb, no issues to date. My powder of choice is AA5, but there are other options as well.

No different than any other .45 acp....about a million loads to select from.
I use the H&G #68 200 SWC and 6 gr of Unique

My load of choice for my M&P45c and Shield 45 is a 230gr RN plated bullet over W231 powder at 1.260 OAL. Fun to shoot, accurate, and very much like my carry ammo.

Here are my favorites:
45 acp 230 grain RN FMJ 1.275 OAL (to be verified with your gun)
4.8 grs. 700X
5.0 grs. Bullseye
6.5 grs Unique
These are not powder puff loads but standard velocity and have proven accurate in all four of my 45's .

Oops! Forget to give the detailed load. Mine is 5.1gr of W231. I did a load ladder from 4.9gr to 5.3gr and found very good accuracy across the board, but ultimately chose 5.1gr for its accuracy and similarity in recoil to my carry ammo.

So far, I have put 2 different handloads through my Shield 45.
Both loads were:
Mixed brass, all large primer.
4.6gr. of Titegroup
1.210 COL
Winchester WLP primers.
Bullets were:
Both 230gr.
Berry's Plated round nose - .452 dia.
Everglades JHP - .451 dia.
Both loads ran flawlessly and very accurate at 7-8 yards.
