Default Shield Front Sight

After my last trip to the range, I was cleaning my shield and noticed that the white dot on the front sight was gone.

S&W must not be using paint that holds up.
Purchased the gun new bout two months ago and have
approx 350 rounds through it.

Dug out my bottle of white modeling paint and took
care of the problem.

Anyone else have a similar experience?

I have about 600 rounds through mine, just swapped out the front sight to the Ameriglo pro sight and noticed my factory sight wasnt completely gone but part of the lower portion of white was missing. Easy fix with some testors paint but still I could see it being a bother on a new gun

at 3 months and about 400rds I lost one of the rear dots. I opted for the white nail polish fix. Now I cant tell or remember which one it was.

Sadly, it's normal. Probably the easiest part on the gun that they could get done right and still they fall off. Smith will replace it if you call them but most just fill it in themselves and spare themselves the trouble.

I had the same thing happen after a couple hundred rounds. My Shield 40 had to go back to S&W for some other issues. They took care of the sight for me while there. If it were not going back for service, I would of done the same as you. It is an easy DIY fix.
