9mm Shield magazine issues
Got my 9mm shield the other day and love it. The size, weight and accuracy are all spot on. The only issue I have encountered is that the magazine doesnt seem to go completely flush against the handle. The small magazine leaves about a 1cm gap between the end of the handle and the bottom of the magazine.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is this something to even be concerned over?

Nature of the beast. My Shield's the same, so's my Compact 9 While we'd all probably prefer a flush fit, they work. When it's all said and done, that's the object of the exercise.

Yes, it's normal unfortunately. I agree with Donn's comments.

Don't you mean 1mm? 1cm is about .4 inch.

LOL! That's what I was thinking but I wasn't going to post anything...
I know what he meant.
If it really bugs you, (I wish it was a bit tighter too) I bet you could color the shiny stainless with some black, like paint or marker or nail polish....

Hey guys I really appreciate the information. This is my first gun that ive ever owned. Just needed to make sure it was doing what it was supposed to. And yeah 1mm was what I meant. Excuse me I wrote it at like 3am after working. 13 hours lol. But thank you again.
And one other thing, if the magazine rattles a little while inside the gun is that normal as well?

Just curious, since you said this was your first gun. What guns have you used in your military/le jobs?
btw, my shield is exactly like that with the 7 rounder, but the 8 rounder fits perfectly. The magazine rattles when the slide is locked back, but not when in battery.

I apologize I should have been a lot more specific. This is the first Smith and Wesson that I have ever owned. During my time in the military I used quite a few different weapons and I am new in the LE field. But I have only shot M&Ps with buddies that own them so when I got the opportunity to buy one I did and that's why I was asking about this issue that I ran into.

I picked up two shields yesterday. The mags are the same in mine. The only issue I have found was the front and rear sights on one of them were notably off center....which I corrected last night in preparation for today's range trip.

How exactly did you go about correcting them? And is that something I can do on my own?

I used a B&J Machine P500 universal sight pusher. It's very easy to do on your own, but you need to have a pusher that is either made for the shield, or a universal pusher that allows you to configure it to use on the Shield.
You can get them from Brownells.
