Smith & Wesson M&P 9MM Magazine 17 Round - SMI-A12

Anyone have a review on these yet? I plan on doin one this week.

I've never been impressed with ProMags myself, always stayed with factory or MecGar.

I ordered two of them. We will see how they turn out.

Use them for range practice only. Dont use them in a situation where your life may depend on it. Failure rate is questionable.

Okay thanks.

Stay away, I have one and just a waste of money.

I have 2 S&W and 2 Promag 17 Rounders. I load them all up and shoot them. I have not had any problems. They all perform well. :D

Mine came apart while shooting and have cause ftf.

The body of the ProMag has to be the same to fit the handle of the M&P, right? Would it be worth ordering a follower, spring and base plate from S&W and retro-fitting the ProMag, *if* you had problems with the ProMag since we can't get the S&W OEM mags?

BroadSideOfABarn 10-09-2013 05:23 PM

Hmmm.... looks like that would be pretty expensive. :)

CAJUNLAWYER 10-09-2013 05:38 PM

Well, when I bought my M&P9 several years ago I had the foresight (and the extra cash) to buy three additional factory mags.:D

In this long journey they call life, sometimes(albeit not often) I do something smart in spite of myself;)

Same setup here.. I've dropped the promags in sand and gravel, loaded them back up and fired them without fail

They are the only things out there that I've found. I have two coming and we shall see if they are any good or not.

Careful with dropping the pro mags on the hard surfaces. They weren't the best at getting back up. The polymer they use for the base plates in the Sig 220 mags was brittle and broke a lot. They sent me a bunch of replacement base pads when I called, but never did change their mixture as I suggested.
