Default M & P 45 full size

I am having issues with my pistol on reassembly. When I try to replace the slide, the slide release lever shifts. This results in a "locked" situation with the slide. I end up having to push the slide release lever back down to finish the slide replacement. Is this normal? It doesnt do this every time, but enough to draw my attention to it.

I just hold the release down with my thumb when reassembling, a habit of many years.
If it really bugs you, there is a little bump on the slide release lever axle that you are rubbing with the barrel. I never bothered to file it flat, either.

this same thing happens sometimes on pretty much all of my full sized M&P's (have 4) in 9mm and .40. it happens on both the 1.0 and 2.0 versions. just sort of a quirk. nothing wrong with your gun or anything. don't remember if its ever happened with my shield...

Some do it and some don't. I just hold the lever down with my finger like OKFC05 does.
