Default Hornady 185gr. 45ACP HAP

Anyone use these bullets, I loaded them in once fired armscor and new starline brass. Hornady recommends a coal of 1.213 which I used to seat the bullet. I measure them to be sure they are correct but at that depth they seat below the line in the picture? If I seat to that line they are too long! Is this normal for HAP 45ACP? Bullets does not have a cannelure.

They should be fine, you should try 5 or so to see if they feed. You could also compare to a factory load

Make a dummy round of the longer one and see if it passes the plunk test and feeds properly. If that works ,load some up and try em.

I just loaded a bunch of those today. Note the Hornady manual says their COLs are for min-spec chambers, and may need to be increased for correct feeding. I use 1.22".

I just used my puller and punched them out a bit and reseated to the base line and they measured 1.245. I did five and load my 1911 mag. the feed and ejected so I'm going to try them. I really want to use them in my 45 carbine so I'll see on range day. If all goes well that will be my OAL. they also pass the barrel punk test!

I was concerned since I load round nose to 1.25 and I know hollow point usually seat deeper
