Has anyone replaced their sites with the XS 24/7 site system?

Just had a set installed yesterday and plan to hit the range this weekend
I wear glasses to read only and these single post/dot set ups seem to help me acquire the target much more quickly. Anxious to get out and try
with my Shield instead of someone else's handgun. This decision was cost driven as much as anything else.

If you have poor eye sight like me XS is a good choice.

If you pocket conceal rear XS snag free sight design is a welcome change over the Shield stock sight.

If you are looking for target accurate sights XS Big Dot is not for you.

If you want a quick 7 yatd center mass sight XS is hard to beat.

I've heard the XS big dot sights are great for fast close range target acquisition. (for me that's the whole point of a hand gun)

I've not heard anything bad about them. If I had the money I would buy a set myself.

Thanks guys, their aren't that many on the market and I'm 63 so eye sight is a little shakes. I'm going to order a set and an Apex trigger kit. Gunsmith want 105 dollar to do all the work including site in after install. So looks like I'll be in around 300 dollar. This is my ccw so I don't mind spending the money

Have you done any amateur gunsmith work before? I would install the apex yourself and then have the smith install he sights and drop the safety plunger in when he's got the rear sight off. Shouldn't cost any more than $30 for that. And installing the apex is stupid easy.

I would take a look at the Ameriglo Pro i-dots as well. I replaced my XS with them and find them much better. Just as fast to pick up, but allows for much greater accuracy at decent distances if the situation ever came up.

BennyS...I changed mine because I like the shape of rear sight and chose the "express" sight "front" for fear the "big" dot might be too large for me. I'm happy w/ the changea and happy w/ the size of the front. Not sure if it's supposed to, but my rear sight "line" is not glow in the dark like the front, and harder to line up in the dark, but if the SHTF, don't think I'd be taking time to sight it up like on the range. That's another reason for going w/ the "express" front, still like to have a target sight and thought the larger front would block too much of the target.

I like the TFO tritium myself. The are easy to acquire, work well at night and still allow for pinpoint shooting out to 15 yds or so vs 7 yds. JMO, nothing wrong with the XS's either.

I paid $130 ($30 labor) including install of XS sight.

I put the Apex kit in myself, although I did buy the armorer's block and some punches which ran the cost up--but I still have those tools for any future need, or to re-sell if I choose. The YouTube demos walk you right through it, and you can pause the action at each step to make sure you are following the correct procedure--especially the proper direction for removal and re-installation of the roll pins.

The gunsmith at a local range charged me $25 to install sights on my Shield, to include sighting it in with my ammo. And he only shot less than half a box of ammo--He did not use the occasion to freeload on the range at my expense. He did struggle a bit to remove the original rear sight, but he did not mar the slide or the new sight in doing it.

I do a lot of my own minor gun smithing and have plenty of tools even a sight pusher BUT I don't feel like messing with the rear sight and the set screw with red lockite. than still have to go to the range and sight them in. Maybe getting lazy

I ordered the brite site TFO GREEN/Green along with the apex shield trigger kit.

You'll be pleased I think , please let me know what you think after you've tried them.

Was able to get to the range yesterday with my Shield 40 and new XS sights. At 62 years old, I could leave the reading glasses in my pocket and pick up the front sight without a struggle. At the 21-28 foot range,
target acquistion was much easier than the stock sights. Especially since
2 of the 3 dots had already fallen off. I'll still struggle with focus from the
gun to a downrange target, but in the 10-30 distance, I'm on the target
quickly and happy with the groupings.

My next upgrade will be the trijicon sights. If i can get someone to install them for me. Lol
