Default M&P40c sights

Looking at front and rear sights, from 10-8, as an early Christmas gift for my 63 year old eyes! The video demonstrating the installation of the sights mentions tools like a vice, steel punch, etc. Since I do not have those necessary tools on hand I am wondering if I should take sights to LGS for accurate installation vs. attempting myself? Any suggestions? Also, should I be ordering rear sight with .140" width or .156"width?

LGS is your best option.

I think I will follow this post as I am on the fence as well about changing the sights on my 40c also. The only thing holding me back is it seems to be very accurate, and I'm afraid to lose that.

I have found so many conflicting/confusing issues that I was going to go to local LGS also, but I'm in no hurry so I will just sit back and watch, or reply if I find something more definitive.

So far, (I haven't measured this yet, don't have a micrometer handy) I have found this info:
Front sight is .160" tall x .140" wide
Rear sight is ?

Front is a white dot dovetail
Rear is "steel low profile carry novak"
