I don't have a Shield to try this with, I do have a FS .40L. I'm curious if anyone who has both has ever tried it? I imagine the full size slide is too big for the Shield frame but it would be sweet combo it if could fit.

No go. Full size/compact slide is quite a bit wider than the Shield slide.

What would be the point of turning a Shield into a full-size 8rd pistol?

I'd love a 10 rnd Shield with a 4.5-5" barrel. I think it'd work great in classes that limit capacity to 10 rnds. I've carried 5" 1911s so this wouldn't be a bad carry gun either.

dullh, My thought was that you could have the smaller frame of the Shield with the longer sight radius of the full side slide. Since many users were putting the full size slides on the compact frames, why not take it a step farther?
