Talking Shield range report

Just got back from the range after picking up a new Shield. Stopped home to clean it and off to the range. They were completely out of 9mm so I could only shoot what I brought with me. Went through 50 rounds of Speer Lawman 115 Gr and a mag each of Speer Gold Dot 124 Gr and Hornady 135 Gr Critical Duty. The Shield functioned flawlessly and is a very soft shooting gun. Less recoil then some bigger weapons I've fired. Very pleased with the groups, just a bit to the left which was probably the shooter more then the gun. All in all I'm very pleased with my new addition and the price wasn't bad either. Paid $379 + tax.

Congrats on the successful outing. It is a soft shooting gun for it's size and weight. Felt recoil is similar to my steel Springfield 9mm, and that weighs 34 oz.

The other thing I'm finding is it is not too big for pocket carry. I don't have a proper holster for it yet but as a test I put a loaded 7 rd mag in with an empty chamber and found it's not bad in a pair of cargo shorts or Dockers. I do wear a Bullhide gunbelt. You won't mistake it for an LCP but it is very doable. Just may become an EDC.

I pocket carry my shield in a remora/tagua no clip iwb holster.

It fits in most of my cargo pant pockets its about the size of a wallet just a lot heavier.

I really like carrying it in the cargo pocket. Its a little awkward to draw from that pocket, but it works for me.

The SHield is a perfect gun for daily carry in that it is small enough to be comfortable and out of sight all day yet is an accurate and formidable weapon once presented. Perfect balance between the two. It is the modern day Colt Detective Special.
