New Bodyguard 380
Hi Everyone,
I've been trying to find a release date for the new Bodyguard 380. I've heard March, April and June for the release. Has anyone heard when the new Bodyguard 380 will be out? Thanks!

I emailed S&W about 2 weeks ago with that question. They replied that they would start shipping in early March. I plan on picking one up as a pocket gun. I don't need a laser and the extra mag is something I'd buy anyway. Can't wait.

Early March Shipping?
I had no idea that March was the shipping date kickoff.

I'm interested in picking one up too. I live in MA though, so hopefully they will submit one for the MA approval roster.

Will the body guard have a Shield trigger?
What about a thumb safety?

I called my LGS (a pretty high volume dealer) to see when they might have them and was told it could be March or it could be November...

I am looking at a 380 for pocket conceal. I would be interested in a BG if the trigger was modeled after the Shield. Do we know if they improved the trigger?

My new M&P Bodyguard 380
I picked one up at my local Cabela's on Sunday. I have owned the original bodyguard 380 since 2011 and I never liked the laser. So I never used it after the novelty wore off. Over the years, I had problems with borked firing pin, laser screw backing out and jamming the gun, and failure to reset, but S&W fixed it each time. I got pretty use to the long trigger pull and it did smother over time. When I found the new model at Cabela's listed for 349.00 I took my old bodyguard in to see what type of tread I could get toward the new one. The gave me 200.00 trad in, plus I got a 20.00 promotional discount which put me out the door often tax at 152.00 and change.
The new model still has a long trigger pull, but it does feel s little smother. The M&P marking look good and the gun is very accurate. After a few more boxes go ammo I will see hoe it feels and may install a Galloway Precision rigger kit it it. This is a great pocket gun.

Damn!!! You got a great deal for a trade. If you went to a LGS they might give you $125 for a 3 year old BG.

Cabela's in Gonzalas had three for sale April 10th, At 4:00 p.m. that afternoon the number was reduced to Two for sale. Coincidentially at 4:00 p.m. that same day I walked out of Cabela's with a new M&P 380.

In case you don't know yet they are available in MA. I know because I just bought one. Getting 380 is another issue.
