Finally found the elusive 45c
After looking for about 2 years I finally bought one today. Love the feel and size of this gun. I'll still cc my shield but still wanted this. S&W should make the 9 and 40 in this size gun. Wonder why this gun is so hard to find when compact 9 and 40's are abundant. Even the shield seems easy to get these days.

For some reason the .45 M&Ps are more scarce than the other calibers. Maybe the .45 just isn't a popular caliber for polymer guns? Certainly the 9mm is the most popular.
Congrats on the gun though. I can't even get one at all in CA. Enjoy it.

I've owned a few M&P's and always ended up selling them. My 45c is the only one I still have...and I love it! I easily have over 1000 rounds though mine. Congrats on the find!

That's interesting. I never noticed that the .45c doesn't have the "c" marked on the slide. The 9mm and .40S&W do though.

they probably use that same slide on their midsize model, just a thought.

Congrats!
Yes I believe the "C" is just a smaller frame with the 4" midsize slide.
I am jealous, I would like a compact 45 but not until they make it with a 3" or 3 1/2" barrel.
I have a FS45 that is just a tiny bit too big for my CC preference. I think a midsize frame with a 3" slide would be OK with me to carry.

Nice, I would love to get a 40c sometime soon. My Shield is nice, but I'd love to be able to carry more rounds and have a .40 instead of a 9mm, I haven't had a .40 in a long time. Good luck and enjoy your new gun.

You will love that pistol. It's just the right size, shoots like a dream, and it's a .45. What more could a young boy ask for?

I picked up a 45c a while ago and ordered a Lobo IWB for it.
It has become my daily carry, swapping only for the Shield just to change things up a bit every now and again.
Fabulous shooting gun! Feels much better in the hand than the Shield.
I'd be hard pressed to choose a favorite M&P between the 45c and 9c. Of all my M&Ps, those two are my favorites.

Those of you with the M&P 45c, 4 inch slide, what are you using for holsters? They seem to be as difficult to find as the 45c itself! I tried mine in my 9c holsters but fit seems a little tight and due to the longer slide the holsters don't quite cover the trigger as well as I would be comfortable with. Thanks!

I made this setup with a fairly open muzzle to accommodate the 45c with a FS slide.

Nicely done bxny10455. I especially like that you're supporting it with 1911 mags.
Do you sell those?

Congrats. 45ACP ammo is pretty cost prohibitive for most of us.
Still very pricey. 9mm and .40S&W, not so bad.

Like you I looked for this model for some time and found none available. Early last year an example of the newly released Glock 30S arrived at the lgs and I ended up taking that home and that shutdown my search.
Now I see the M&Ps are more available now. I would have liked to have given the S&W a try since I have their M&P9c/40c and like them a lot, but I am fine with how things worked out.

It would be difficult enough to find a 45C holster for a righty, but as a Port-Sider, I knew custom made was going to be the only way to go. I think this took Ray 5 weeks to make. Maybe 6. Cost was $72 plus additional $15 for the mouth reinforcement. Very cool fellow who is all about finding our exactly what you're looking for in the way of a holster. Great communication. That looks great.
Did you have some instructions or a plan for it?
Was it a kit?

Thanks for the suggestions folks. Picked up a Blade-tech Sting Ray OWB holster from LGS this afternoon. Packaging says it is for FS M&P 9/40 but it is adjustable for both width of gun and cant so will try it out and see how well I like it. They said bring it back for refund if I don't so figured what the heck. Still need an IWB rig though so will keep looking or try one of ya'lls suggestions if I find any of them.

Do a youtube search on "dyi kydex holster". I make holsters locally so when I buy I'll do it in bulk to save a few bucks.
