M&P C.O.R.E. Slide Cap
So I am currently in the process of having a new cap machined for my M&P CORE slide. It will replace the plastic cap that comes on the CORE and be made of stainless. The cap will also be sent for a black nitride finish. The plan is to have it milled with scallops/serrations to match the ones on the slide. Since I do not have an optic for my CORE, the new cap will provide me with a more custom look of a milled slide and also the functional purpose of aided slide racking. I will post pictures as progress is made. If it turns out well and there is interest, I will talk with my machinist about producing more and making them available.

Unfortunately there were other projects ahead of mine for milling. There is hope of the test cap being completed tomorrow. As soon as I get the milled cap I will get pics posted. I am very anxious to get this cap done!!!

I am definitely interested. I have two C.O.R.E. pistols - I have a Trijicon RMR on a full-size, but my 5" I plan to leave with (Dawson) iron sights, for a ESP gun.

I got a photo (not to clear) of a test run that was done on aluminum. Machinist was not too happy with the results so he will be tweeking it some more. I also asked if the serrations could be spaced the same as on the slide and not so close as was done. He is working on it. I will keep you posted...

Ah, I see. The picture clued me in better.
I didn't know they had a plastic cover there. The one in the pic looks good.

Hi 8Six3,
Very nice! Can you send the forum an update on this project? I am interested to get 2 if they become available.
Thank you,

Unfortunately this project is not going to move forward at this time. The company I had working on this project is local and their CNC machine is a bit big to do the detail work I requested on such a small part. They are going to try and get me in touch with some people that work on smaller parts and at that time I may move forward. If things change I will update the status of the project at that time.
